The beauty of Pu'er tea lies in a world of self-forgetfulness

Only Pu'er tea can hold all the beauty of the entire world

Everyone loves the fragrance of Pu'er

But do you know the secrets behind Pu'er tea?

Pu'er tea originates from Yunnan Province and is one of China's top ten famous teas. During the Yongzheng era, Pu'er tea was presented as tribute to the Qing court, earning fame at home and abroad. Pu'er tea has always been supplied to people as a premium tea, but truly valuable and great-tasting Pu'er tea is hard to come by. Many tea lovers have paid a high price only to get Pu'er of ordinary quality. How exactly can you buy good Pu'er and taste what is natural and healthy? Today I will share my own personal experiences with everyone.

My hometown, the beautiful Guafengzhai

Guafengzhai is located in the Yiwu mountain area of Mengla County, Xishuangbanna Prefecture, Yunnan Province, only 3-4 km from the border with Laos. I, Axiu of Yizhai Tea Manor, was born in this small mountain village. Sunny, cheerful and hospitable - that is the true essence of how I live.

At an altitude of 1,000 to over 1,700 m, with an average annual temperature of 21.2°C, surrounded mostly by virgin forest, it is a truly remote mountain village. The mountains are shrouded in mist and clouds all year round, the soil is fertile, and the ecological environment is uniquely favorable - the most suitable place for ancient tea trees to grow.

Do things with a clear conscience, live life with integrity,This is the sentence I heard most often from my grandfather when he made tea, back when I was a child. Grandpa has worshipped Buddha for many years and firmly believes that "heaven watches what people do." The reason I am writing all this is that Grandpa was angry that outside tea merchants keep driving the purchase price lower and lower. After working hard all year round, we get nothing, while the tea merchants resell what they buy from us to the outside and the price can multiply several times over.

Setting aside the problems within the industry, people also wear themselves out trying to buy good Pu'er. So Axiu wants tea lovers to truly taste first-hand Yunnan Pu'er tea and avoid middlemen earning huge margins. So tea lovers can taste genuine Yunnan Pu'er at a price 55% below market.

Axiu makes friends through tea and treats everyone with sincerity.

Step into Axiu's own organic tea garden

Top-grade Pu'er tea from Yunnan must meet two conditions: first, it must come from a natural organic tea garden; second, it must be made from tender leaves sprouted by old tea trees 200-500 years old. As the old saying goes, "wine is judged by the winery, Pu'er by the mountain." The ancient-tree tea of Yizhai Tea Manor has weathered centuries of wind and rain, benefiting year-round from a warm climate, ample rainfall, abundant sunshine and fertile soil, which together create the natural growth of fine tea trees.

This is the location I pinned with my phone before heading into the mountains. Everyone can see how far it is from Guafengzhai to my family's tea garden.

This is Yizhai Tea Manor. The tea trees are thick and ancient, with a strong sense of history, yet the tea leaves are still fresh and green, clean and soothing. Grandpa devoted his whole life to Pu'er tea. He says Pu'er tea is like him: from birth to adulthood to old age, only after undergoing the trials of time and frost can its unique charm stand out all the more.

"Nothing in the years is ordinary; pour out a pot of rich or light fragrance." Brew a pot of fragrant tea - the liquor is clear; sip it slowly and savor it. In the tea's aroma there is not only a delightful scent, but also the hardship and dedication of the tea maker. Whenever Grandpa talks about these things, his eyes glisten with tears, and he tells me that no matter what happens, I must never forget what Pu'er tea means to us.

About Pu'er tea - these questions you must know.

Axiu's family traditional tea-making process

Step one, picking tea

Tall ancient tea trees can only be picked by hand. The standard picking is usually one bud and one leaf, or one bud and two leaves. Depending on the picking season, it can be divided into spring tea and autumn tea, commonly known as "spring tips" and "grain flowers."

Step two, fixation (kill-green)

A brief high-temperature treatment removes excess moisture from the tea leaves and softens them. This process is called fixation (kill-green).

Step three, rolling

The flattened tea leaves are rolled into strip shapes, preparing them for the following steps.

Step four, sun-drying

Pu'er tea cannot be pan-fired; it must be dried in the sun!

Step five, pressing

The Pu'er tea of a fixed type and weight is wrapped in gauze, the tea leaves are softened with steam, and then pressed into shapes such as cakes, tuo, bricks and melon.

Step six, air-drying

The shaped tea is placed in a cool, ventilated spot and left until the tea dries and sets.

Step seven, packaging

Every cake of Pu'er tea from our family is packaged by hand in cotton paper.

Axiu's family fine selections, or tasting

Yizhai Tea Manor Pu'er tea is made using traditional ancient methods, slowly roasted over a gentle fire. The brewed leaves are thick and full, the color is pure, the tea liquor is clear, and after drinking it leaves fragrance on the cheeks and teeth with a long-lasting sweet aftertaste.

We know well that no matter how much we achieve, we cannot do without our customers' support, so we focus solely on Pu'er tea and strive to make it the very best. The product is the person! The strips are thick and sturdy, the white down is prominent, the tea liquor is vigorous, smooth on entry, sweet on the finish, the brewed leaves are thick and full, and drinking it is deeply relaxing.

Finding good tea is hard; making good tea is even harder!

The innate ecological environment and the craftsmanship that comes after - neither can be missing!

But for the passion for Pu'er tea in my heart, and for the dream of making a one-of-a-kind fine tea!

I will keep moving forward on this path, together with my grandfather and my tea friends, advancing without stop!
