Geranium, also known as pelargonium, zonal geranium, and fish geranium, originated at the Cape of Good Hope in Africa. It has a long flowering period and can bloom from October each year to June of the following year. Some flower lovers say that their geraniums have not bloomed again since they bought them, which is really worrying. Try growing them this way, and the flower balls will bloom continuously for 2 months and look stunning!

1. Watering: Geraniums like to grow in slightly moist soil. It should not be too dry or too wet. When the potting soil is somewhat dry, you can sprinkle a little water, so that the geranium flowers can stay in bloom and remain fresh.

2. Light: Geraniums belong to sun-loving plants, so they need sufficient sunlight all year round. It is best to grow them on a balcony, so they can bloom continuously. Without sunlight, they will only have buds but will not open, which is maddening. However, when the temperature exceeds 35°C, geraniums enter a semi-dormant period and stop growing and blooming, so in hot summer, move the flowerpot to a cool, ventilated place or a north-facing windowsill or balcony.

3. Fertilizing: Geranium is a flowering plant that greatly likes fertilizer, so it must be fertilized frequently. During the growing season of geraniums, in order to make the flowers bloom profusely, water once every 1-2 weeks with dilute thin fertilizer water (decomposed soybean cake water). Every 7-10 days, water with a 800-fold potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution to promote normal blooming.

4. Pruning: After flowering, promptly cut off the withered flower stems, which can increase light between the plants, induce new leaves to sprout, and produce new flower stems. Pruning and pinching: to encourage more branching geraniums to bloom more, pinch the plants multiple times to promote more branching and bud formation. After the flowers fade, promptly cut off the faded flowers and remove overly dense and weak branches to avoid excessive nutrient consumption.
