Don't be careless when orchids bloom; doing these few things well can effectively extend the flowering period

Water: Keep humidity moderate, water again only when the potting soil is slightly dry, and mist to maintain moisture when the temperature is high. Light: Turn the pot every so often to keep the light even and prevent the flower stems from growing crooked. After the flowers open, use diffused light; strong light will scorch them. Pruning: Remove flowers that are too densely clustered to preserve nutrients. Fertilizing: Add a suitable light fertilizer before flowering.
1. Humidity
From the time its buds begin to grow until they open, the soil in the pot must be neither too dry nor too wet. When the soil turns slightly pale, you can give it the usual amount of water. Especially when the temperature is relatively high, or the humidity is relatively low and the wind is strong, just spray a little water mist to add humidity.
2. Light
If the flowers are not growing straight during the flowering period, you should turn them in time so they receive more even light, which will make their posture look better. Once the flowers have opened, they only need diffused light, because sunlight that is too strong will scorch them, while too little will keep the color from being vivid red. It is best to place them in a relatively cool area.
3. Protection Against Severe Heat and Frost
First, because there are many varieties of this flower, different ones bloom in different seasons, so more thorough protection should be given during periods of severe heat and frost. Second, varieties that bloom in summer and autumn will not flower well because the light is too strong. Varieties that bloom in winter and spring are very likely to be affected by cold. Third, therefore, provide shade during periods of severe heat and shield them from wind in the coldest winter months.
4. Pruning
First, if there are relatively many flowers at the time, remove some appropriately, otherwise too many nutrients will be consumed. This will sap its strength. It will affect the next year's flowering, so pruning should be done. Second, keeping two or three flower stems per pot is enough.
5. Fertilizing
You can appropriately add fertilizer, which can make its appearance more elegant; elements such as phosphorus and potassium can be used to enhance its fragrance. What you should be careful about is that fertilizing should be done before it blooms.
