Potted ivy needs to be repotted and have its soil changed at the right time. The potting soil can be made by mixing leaf mold, garden soil and sand, with organic fertilizer added. You also need to ensure a good care environment: full sun, a temperature of 18 to 20 degrees, and shade in summer; keep the humidity up and replenish water in time; finally, fertilize reasonably, ideally once every 15 days, and only then will it grow into a full, lush pot.

1. Repot and change the soil at the right time

When changing the soil, the potting mix is best made from leaf mold, sand and garden soil. The best time is at the end of spring and the very beginning of summer. After that, you can take it out of its original pot and put it into a new one, but first add a layer of already decomposed fertilizer at the bottom of the pot, and use sterilized scissors to cut off roots that are too long or too dense. Next, add plenty of water, then place it in a ventilated, shady spot. Once new shoots grow, you can begin normal care.

2. A good care environment

Although ivy is a shade-loving plant, it can also be given a full day of light so the plant can carry out photosynthesis. Then you must also keep the temperature between 18 and 20 degrees, and it must not exceed 35 degrees, otherwise the leaves will turn yellow and growth will stall. So when summer arrives, you need to keep it out of scorching sun; at this time you should not only shade it but also cool it down appropriately, and ensure good ventilation with diffused light, because if it gets no light for a long time, its growth will be affected.

3. Maintain humidity

It likes a somewhat humid environment, so replenishing water in time is very important, especially during the peak growth period, when you must ensure a steady water supply, because at this time the potting soil needs to stay moist, otherwise it will start dropping leaves. If the ground nearby is a bit dry, you should also spray water on the ground to raise the humidity.

4. Reasonable fertilizing

If you want it to grow into a full, lush pot successfully, nutrients are indispensable, and the best way to obtain nutrients is to fertilize it. Especially during the growing season, make sure to apply fertilizer once every 15 days, but note that the fertilizer must not be too concentrated and should be diluted appropriately with water, with organic fertilizer as the main type. But in the hot summer or cold winter, you need to stop fertilizing, otherwise it will have the opposite effect.
