What to do when a peace lily's leaves turn yellow? A few simple steps to bring yellow leaves back to life

I believe many plant lovers grow a peace lily at home. Its leaves are emerald green and its flowers are pure white, making it look very fresh and elegant. In addition, it is a great helper for filtering indoor stale air, so it is deeply loved by many people.
But in our daily care, poor management can easily make the peace lily sick and its leaves turn yellow. So what should we do when a peace lily's leaves turn yellow?
In fact, many reasons can cause a peace lily's leaves to turn yellow. Next, the editor will explain in detail the reasons for yellowing leaves and the solutions.
Repotting
Many plant lovers never repot their peace lily for a long time. Although repotting plants often is not good, if you do not repot for a long time, it can easily cause the plant's leaves to turn yellow.
In the early stage of growth, the peace lily absorbs a large amount of nutrients from the soil, and over time the nutrients in the soil decrease, causing malnutrition in the plant. With too much fertilizer or cold damage, the leaf tips easily turn yellow.
So when we encounter yellowing leaves, we should first consider whether it is related to the potting soil. Pour out the old potting soil and replace it with some loose, fertile, breathable soil.
Light
The peace lily likes light, but dislikes strong light. If you place it directly in the sun to bake, it can easily cause the plant to wilt, develop yellow leaves, or even wither, triggering sunscald.
So when we care for a peace lily in daily life, we must avoid strong direct sunlight, and move it somewhere else when the temperature is too high and the sunlight is intense. Once the leaves turn yellow due to sun exposure, take the pot to a shaded place, then spray some water, and with careful care for two days it will be solved.
Water
Plant growth needs a lot of water. Of course, watering should not be excessive either; too much water can also cause the plant's roots and stems to rot, and the leaves to turn yellow and black. In summer, water about once every 2 days; in winter, water about once every 5 days. Each time you water, be sure to water thoroughly.
Humidity
The peace lily needs relatively high growing humidity during growth. If the air is too dry, it will cause the leaves to wilt. This can be solved by increasing misting or sprinkling water on the floor of the environment.
Fertilizing
The peace lily grows relatively fast and needs sufficient fertilizer during growth, but fertilization should be moderate. If too much fertilizer is applied, its leaves will turn yellow and wrinkle, and in severe cases it will cause root rot, or even death. Plant lovers, during the growing season of young plants, apply well-rotted 10-times-diluted liquid fertilizer once every 15 days; for mature plants, apply compound fertilizer once every 30 days.
Pests
Yellowing leaves on a peace lily, besides being related to our daily care, may also be because it is sick. If the plant suffers from a mite pest disease, the peace lily's leaves will show undesirable symptoms such as wilting, faded luster, and yellow withering.
If the plant is sick, we can spray miticides for control, such as dicofol, hexythiazox, pyridaben, and so on.
So when a peace lily's leaves turn yellow, plant lovers should not worry. Figure out what is causing it, treat the cause, and I believe the leaves will soon regain their vitality~
