After growing flowers for a long time, your home will always attract some small bugs. Especially as summer gets closer, some mosquitoes and bugs become even more rampant, which is really endlessly annoying. Don't worry, today Huahua will introduce a few small methods for preventing and controlling mosquitoes and bugs in summer, so your home will no longer be troubled by mosquitoes and bugs!

Soil sterilization and disinfection to prevent and control mosquitoes and bugs

Flower Growing Encyclopedia

Many times, most mosquitoes and bugs hatch from eggs in the soil, so if you want to kill mosquitoes and bugs at the source, you still have to start with the soil.

Solution:

1、

Sun exposure disinfection

. After preparing the culture soil for growing flowers, place it on clean concrete ground or wooden boards, spread it thinly in one layer on the ground and expose it to the sun. Turn the soil about once every 2-3 days so the soil near the ground can also be exposed to the sun. After about 3-15 days, the insect eggs and some pathogens in the soil can be killed.

2、

Carbendazim disinfection

. Add carbendazim to the soil. The ratio of carbendazim to soil is 1:800. After stirring evenly, cover with plastic film. After 2-4 days, once the smell has evaporated, it can be used.

3、

Steaming disinfection

. Put the nutrient soil in a steamer, turn on the heat and heat to 60°C-100°C for 30-60 minutes, then take the nutrient soil out to dry, and use it after the soil temperature drops. Note that the heating time must not be too long, otherwise it is easy to kill the beneficial microorganisms in the soil, affecting the normal growth and development of the flowers.

Light mosquito coils to prevent mosquitoes and bugs

Flower Growing Encyclopedia

Actually, if small bugs such as mosquitoes and bugs are found at home, one of the best methods is to use mosquito coils to deal with them.

Solution:

1. If you find that there are especially many mosquitoes and bugs around the plants, you can choose to directly light a mosquito coil to kill those small bugs. You can light the mosquito coil and place it next to the flower pot, then find a large plastic bag to cover both the flower and the flower pot. After about 1 hour, open it, and the mosquitoes and bugs will basically all be eliminated.

2. Bury the already-used electric mosquito coil tablet about 3cm deep in the soil in the flower pot, and it can also kill mosquitoes and bugs.

Spraying Huahuashen and other medicines to prevent and control mosquitoes and bugs

Flower Growing Encyclopedia

If you have tried the above two methods, but find that the flowers at home are still attracting bugs, then the next step is to bring out the big move and use Huahuashen to kill the bugs!

Instructions for use:

1. Mix Huahuashen and water evenly at a concentration ratio of 1:200, then spray it on the plant leaves. Both the front and back of the leaves should be sprayed evenly. Spray about once every 3-5 days, and the small bugs will soon be eliminated!

2. Mix Huahuashen and water evenly at a ratio of 1:500, then use it for root drenching. Drench the roots about once a week, and the insect-killing effect is also quite good.

Tips:

As the saying goes,

every medicine is somewhat toxic

. If you want to use medicines such as Huahuashen, whether spraying or root drenching,

it is best to do it outdoors

. If it must be done indoors, it is best to

wear a mask and keep the room ventilated.

Soaking orange peel in water to prevent and control mosquitoes and bugs

Flower Growing Encyclopedia

Many flower lovers probably do not know that soaking orange peel in water also has a very good effect on preventing and controlling mosquitoes and bugs.

Instructions for use:

1. Soak fresh orange peel in water, then pour it into the flower pot. Basically, soak while pouring, and after about 3-4 days the small bugs can be killed.

2. Put orange peel into a plastic bottle or plastic bucket or other container with water. After tightening the lid, place it in the sun for 3-5 days. Then take the upper liquid, add water, mix at a ratio of 1:5, and use it for root drenching, and small flying insects and the like can be eliminated.

Scallion, ginger, garlic and chili water to prevent and control mosquitoes and bugs

Flower Growing Encyclopedia

Some pungent things such as scallion, ginger, garlic and chili can all have a certain repellent effect on mosquitoes and bugs. Today Huahua will introduce in detail the method of using chili water to repel insects.

Instructions for use:

1. Prepare an appropriate amount of chili. A single variety of chili is fine. If conditions permit, multiple kinds of chili can be mixed together, then put the chili into a juicer.

2. Add an appropriate amount of water and blend for 1 minute with the juicer to turn the chili into chili soup.

3. Pour the prepared chili soup into a filter net to filter. Put the filtered chili water into a clean bottle for later use.

4. When using, mix the chili water and water at a ratio of 1:1, put it in a spray bottle, then spray it toward the flowers with bugs.

Soaking tobacco shreds in water to prevent and control mosquitoes and bugs

Flower Growing Encyclopedia

Flower lovers who have smokers at home can choose to use local materials, take out the tobacco shreds from smoked cigarettes, soak them in water, and then water the flowers with it, which can also achieve the effect of preventing and controlling mosquitoes and bugs.

Instructions for use:

1. Take out the remaining tobacco shreds from cigarette butts, then put them in water to soak.

2. When the solution turns dark brown, you can fish out the already soaked tobacco shreds.

3. Spray plants with pest damage using the tobacco shred water, and the mosquitoes and bugs can be killed. Or pour the tobacco shred water directly into the flower pot, which can also kill the bugs, and it does no harm to the plants.

、

Tips:

1. The reason many mosquitoes and bugs appear is that some flowers need high humidity for growth and development. Therefore, it must be ensured that

there is no water accumulation in the flower pot

. You can choose to

spray water toward the leaves more often

。

2、

do not apply unrotted fertilizer into the pot

. Although expired milk, rotten fruit peels and leaves, and other kitchen waste have high nutritional value when made into fertilizer, they must be fully rotted before use, because these unfermented things are especially likely to attract bugs.

3. When applying rotted organic fertilizer to flowers, it is best to dig a hole about 2cm deep, bury the fertilizer in the flower pot,

cover it well with soil

, and avoid attracting those bugs over because of the smell given off by the fertilizer.
