"When flowers bloom throughout the garden, none is as fragrant as it" - that is the jasmine, which "a single plant can fill a whole room with fragrance." Jasmine flowers are pure white and charmingly fragrant, deeply loved by flower enthusiasts, and the song "What a Beautiful Jasmine Flower" has made jasmine a household name. Jasmine has now become a common fragrant ornamental flower for gardens and potted plants.

In May, the peak jasmine blooming season is approaching again. How can you make potted jasmine bloom more vigorously? Jasmine loves fertilizer. With proper care, a potted jasmine can bloom three times a year. Let's look at exactly how to do it.

1. In early June, jasmine successively produces early flowers, but these flowers are generally small and few and should be promptly removed. Otherwise, they consume too many nutrients, which will affect the quality and quantity of subsequent blooms, delay the flowering period, and reduce the ornamental effect. The method for removing flowers is to pinch off the tender leafy shoots together with the flowers, prompting new shoots to grow again and the branches and leaves to become lush. At this time, apply diluted fertilizer water twice a week and keep the potting soil moist. For fertilizer, you can choose a good organic nutrient solution. Huadongde acid-loving flower nutrient solution is rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, and also contains humic acid, which can promote more vigorous jasmine blooming.

2. From late June to early July is the first peak flowering period. At this time, fertilizer and water management needs to be strengthened, with light fertilizer applied frequently, fertilizing once every 2 days with fully decomposed organic liquid fertilizer, at a fertilizer-to-water ratio of 1:4. Watering should be sufficient, generally once every 2 days. Watering is usually best done in the morning, while fertilizing is best done in the evening. Continue this until late July. Because of sufficient fertilizer and water, the flowers can bloom larger and more numerous.

3. In early August, the second flowering period forms. At this time, fertilizing should be slightly more concentrated than before, generally with equal parts fertilizer and water. To encourage better blooming in jasmine, you can also spray a superphosphate solution on the leaves. By late August, gradually reduce fertilization to once every 6 to 7 days, while watering still needs to be relatively frequent, maintaining once every 2 days.

4. From early September to early October, the third flowering period forms. At this time, fertilization should be stopped, and the amount of watering should also gradually decrease. Because the weather has gradually turned cooler, this will affect bud formation, so the number of flowers in this batch is relatively small. After mid-October, flowering ends, and you only need to keep the potting soil slightly moist.

These are the points to pay attention to regarding fertilization throughout the entire flowering period. In addition, note that during the jasmine flowering period, do not spray water onto the flowers, to prevent premature flower drop and loss of fragrance. Summer has more rainy days, so when it rains, bring potted jasmine in and do not let it get rained on.
