Jasmine is a flower that many people grow. Its leaves are oval and emerald green, with a shining luster. Varieties are divided into single-petaled and double-petaled; the multi-petaled small white flowers are delicate and smooth. Not only are the flowers beautiful, but they also give off a pleasant fragrance. Some beginner flower lovers often say they can't grow them well - every time they get a new jasmine, within a few days the leaves turn yellow and it won't bloom. So how do you grow jasmine in pots?
Jasmine loves sunlight extremely. If your jasmine is still indoors, why not move them to the balcony to get some sun. With plenty of sunlight, the branches and leaves flourish and there are many flowers; with low temperatures and shade, the leaves are thin, flowers are sparse, and branches are slender. Perhaps your jasmine is blooming less or not blooming at all simply because it lacks sunlight.
Jasmine needs a lot of water during its growing season, and the soil should be kept slightly moist. But it must not become waterlogged. Before the soil completely dries out, you need to water it thoroughly in time. Follow the principle of watering thoroughly when you water. During the growing season, it needs fertilizer rich in potassium and phosphorus, such as the common monopotassium phosphate. You can also directly use nutrient solution as a substitute. Only with sufficient nutrients will they bloom frequently.
No matter what flowers you grow, soil selection is absolutely the first priority and also the most crucial. For potted jasmine, I like to use porous, breathable media, such as the common leaf mold, bark, peat moss, and other soils with good drainage. When the soil is chosen well, it's easy to avoid problems like root rot and yellow leaves that often appear later. If your jasmine has yellow leaves, you can give them a change of potting soil.
Do all of the above, and the jasmine's blooming momentum will be unstoppable. If you like jasmine, give it a try. Jasmine can have three blooming periods each year: May to June is the early blooming period; July to August is the peak blooming period; September to October is the late blooming period. The blooming periods cover the entire summer and autumn seasons. You can enjoy the fragrance, admire the flowers, and even brew them as tea. It is a flower very much worth growing.
