More and more people enjoy growing flowers, placing a potted green plant at home for a nice decorative effect, adding brightness and color to life. Friends who love growing flowers should choose this flower; its elegance rivals the peony, give it a little water and it thrives, give it more sunlight and it blooms brilliantly.

Today's star is the moss rose (Portulaca grandiflora), also known as "the undying"; it has a strong ability to adapt to its environment, grows quickly, and its flowers are small and delicate, about the size of a 1-yuan coin. It blooms frequently and produces a large number of flowers at once, making it very popular.

The moss rose originally comes from Brazil. Its flowering period is from June to October, and it comes in many colors, such as pink, red, orange, and so on, with double-petaled and single-petaled varieties. The double-petaled moss rose is especially popular; although the flowers are small and delicate, they have the elegance of a peony.

The moss rose is especially fond of light. Only with sufficient light do its flowers fully bloom; when there is not enough light, the petals will not open completely, so in the morning or evening it appears half-open.

The moss rose can be planted in the ground or in pots. It is especially suitable as an ornamental flower for courtyards; it needs little care, and with just light and rainwater it can grow vigorously. If potted, place it in a spot with plenty of light and water it occasionally, and it will grow very well.

When growing moss rose in pots, it should be placed indoors in winter, otherwise it is easily frostbitten.

Do flower lovers like the moss rose? Simple yet beautiful; if you love looking at flowers but have no time to care for them, the moss rose is the first choice.
