How do you repot a rubber plant? Master the correct repotting methods and steps

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
The best time to repot is in mid-to-late March, when its new buds have not yet emerged. The specific procedure is to first take the plant out of its original pot, then place a layer of soil at the bottom of the new pot, put the plant in, and add new soil around it. After that, water it and place it in a shady spot. In about four or five days, new leaves will grow, which means the roots have successfully adjusted, and you can begin normal care.

1. First, we need to get it out of its original pot. This step may be somewhat difficult; at this point you can first tap the side of the pot a few times with your hand to create a gap between it and the pot, then hold it down, turn the flowerpot over, and remove the pot directly. If there are insects or rotten roots, we can clean up these parts, but be sure not to damage the roots.

2. You can use either the original pot or a new one. If using the original pot, what you need to do first is clean it thoroughly, then place two pieces of tile at the bottom of the pot, but do not block its drainage hole, and then put in the new soil. It is best to add some fertilizer to the soil; you can use livestock manure or fertilizer bought from the market. Also, put some potting soil at the bottom. If it is a new pot, you also need to line it with a layer of soil; all you need to do is wash the pot clean.

3. After that, put the plant in and fill in around it with new soil. The surrounding soil should not fill it completely; you need to leave a gap of two to three cm from the rim of the pot.

4. After placing it, you need to water it a little, then put it in a shady spot. After three or four days, new leaves will grow, and at this point you can begin normal care.
