When choosing a pot, the first thing to look at is the material. Generally, unglazed clay pots and ceramic pots are used; the advantage of these pots is that they are breathable and cheap. Next are purple clay pots and plastic pots. Metal ones are best avoided. The size of the pot should be chosen according to the plant's age and the growth state of its roots.

1. Type

There are several commonly used pots for plants. The first is the plastic pot. This kind of pot is fairly simple and cheap, and its drainage and breathability are not poor. The second is the ceramic one; it is a bit better than the plastic pot, and for this kind of plant it should be the best. Next, we can use an unglazed clay pot; this kind of pot also has good breathability and drainage, and it is fairly cheap, so it is quite suitable for Murraya paniculata. If a purple clay pot is used, and if it has a glazed layer, then we can use more river sand, which will increase breathability and drainage. We do not recommend using metal pots.

2. Size

Size is also a point that very much needs to be controlled. This kind of plant does not need a very large pot, but if the plant has grown larger, a bigger pot should still be chosen. At first, a pot with a radius of about 20 cm can be selected; after it grows larger, a pot with a further increased size can be used, and when it grows even larger, it will need repotting again. We should note that we must not choose a large pot that does not suit the plant, because if the pot is too large and the seedling is too small, the seedling's ability to consume water is not strong, and a lot of water will accumulate in the pot, so breathability will be poor and the roots will easily rot. Of course, if the pot is too small, the roots will find it hard to spread out, and that is also no good.
