Soil: To grow chrysanthemums, use soil with good drainage, rich in humus, loose and fertile. Water: Water more in summer; in spring and autumn keep the potting soil from getting too dry; control watering in winter. Light: Normally place it in a semi-shaded spot; in summer move it to a place where sunlight cannot shine directly. Temperature: Normally keep it within 15-25°C; in winter keep it above 5°C.

I. Soil

The soil for growing Queen of the Night Cactus (Epiphyllum oxypetalum) needs good drainage, rich humus, and a loose, fertile texture; it can be made by mixing leaf mold with a small amount of fine sand.

II. Water

In summer, water the Queen of the Night Cactus more, but do not let water accumulate in the soil, and do not let it be rained on, otherwise the roots will easily rot. You can mist it 1-2 times in the morning and evening to increase air humidity. In spring and autumn, just keep the potting soil from getting too dry; in winter, control the water and wait until the soil dries before watering.

III. Light

The Queen of the Night Cactus likes a semi-shaded growing environment, but it should not be kept completely away from sunlight. When the winter sun is relatively soft, place it in a sunny spot indoors to grow; when the summer sun is relatively strong, place it where direct sunlight cannot reach.

IV. Temperature

The optimal growing temperature for the Queen of the Night Cactus is between 15-25°C. When the summer temperature is too high, you can cool it down. In winter, it is best to adjust the temperature to between 10-12°C, and it must not go below 5°C, otherwise it will suffer cold damage.

V. Precautions

1. Avoid strong light. After the Queen of the Night Cactus is exposed to strong sunlight, its leaves will become dry and withered, with yellow spots, scorched edges and other symptoms, so when the sunlight is too strong, certain measures should be taken to shade it.

2. Drain accumulated water. Because the Queen of the Night Cactus is very afraid of waterlogging, it is best not to let it be exposed to heavy rain. After each rainfall, check whether rainwater has accumulated in the soil, and if so, drain it away.
