At this time last year, I went to the flower market to look at flowers, wanting to see if there were any novel and beautiful flowers I could buy. I wandered around for half a day and found nothing new. The flowers in the flower market did not look like anything I wanted to buy, so I planned to go home. In the end, at the small flower stall at the entrance of the flower market, I found several flower branches that someone had thrown on the ground. They looked so pitiful. When I picked them up and took a look, I realized they were a few flower branches of kalanchoe and rose. I picked them up like treasures and took them home. After getting home, I hurriedly stuck them into flower pots. Unexpectedly, the rose cuttings I planted last year have bloomed today. They are really beautiful. Flower friends, you can look at the pictures!

Haha, it actually turned out to be a pot of rainbow rose. Isn't it very beautiful? Rose cuttings are actually very easy too. Let's take a look together!

Prepare some pure vermiculite, coarse or fine is fine, then find a few clean disposable plastic cups, and finally find a shallow tray that can hold water.

Cut off the rose branches, generally about 10 cm tall, usually leaving two leaves on top or no leaves or branches at all. Too many leaves and branches will increase the consumption of water and soil nutrients. Trim the bottom into a horseshoe-shaped slant to make it easier to absorb water.

Soak the rose branches with dried wounds in a carbendazim solution. After soaking for 30 minutes, take them out and put them in a ventilated place to dry the water on the branches. Insert them into the vermiculite in a disposable cup, then place them in a shallow tray. Pour clean water into the shallow tray, with the water level 1-2 cm high, so the vermiculite absorbs water and stays moist.

When the temperature is 22-25°C, cuttings are most likely to take root. If the temperature is not enough, you can find a transparent plastic bag to cover the rose branches to keep them warm and moist. Remember to poke 2 small holes in the plastic bag.

After 15 days, the rose branches will grow big white roots. Generally, after 1 month, the new leaves sprouting on the branches will grow more and more.

After letting it grow for another 7-10 days, it can be transplanted. Mix leaf mold, river sand, and fermented chicken manure, put them together into a pot, then plant the rose branches, water them thoroughly, and first place them under indirect light for 7 days, then move them into the sun.

Soon you will have your own pot of roses. A pot full of blooms is really especially beautiful.

Kalanchoe cuttings can also refer to this method. Kalanchoe leaf cuttings can be done all year round, but summer and autumn are the easiest seasons for survival. Before cutting, first prepare a flower pot, and it is best to put well-drained sandy loam soil in it.

Put the cut top buds in a cool and ventilated place, let the wounds dry, then cut them into the flower pot, water them thoroughly, and place them in indirect light for care.

Geranium

Geraniums grow quickly and have very strong branching ability. They are very easy to root from cuttings, and this can be done in both spring and autumn. If you have a pot of robust geraniums at home, why not give it a try and root a few more pots? Giving them to friends is also a nice idea!

Gardenia and bougainvillea can also be propagated by this cutting method. They really are especially easy to root. In this beautiful season, let's all grow flowers!
