How to grow roses? Detailed guide to cultivation methods and precautions

Roses need sunlight to grow
Roses are sun-loving flowering shrubs that grow well in a sunny environment, with attractive flower colors. During the growing period, no shading is needed; the stronger the light, the better. Lack of sunlight is not a worry, but insufficient sunlight is.
Roses need water to grow
Roses like moisture but fear waterlogging. From budding to before flowering, water a little more as appropriate to keep the soil surface moist but not waterlogged. After flowering, do not water too much; let the soil dry out between waterings. In rainy weather, they can be exposed to some rain, but drainage must be done in time.
The way you water also matters. During the flowering period, do not water from the top, especially when the sunlight is strong. Do not let water accumulate on the leaves and in the flower centers, so as to avoid scorching the flowers and leaves.
Roses need nutrients to grow
Roses like fertilizer and also tolerate poor soil; they can grow whether well fed or not. The usual fertilization method is:
In March, fertilize 1 to 2 times, mainly with nitrogen-containing liquid fertilizer, to promote the growth of branches and leaves. From April to May, fertilize 2 to 3 times, mainly with phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, to promote bud formation and flowering; after the flowers fade, apply a compound fertilizer once to promote the plant's recovery.
At other times, try not to fertilize, so as to avoid affecting the plant's flowering due to excessive fertilization.
Roses need pest prevention to grow
Roses are delicate and beautiful, but also relatively weak, and are often infected by many diseases. Most of these are fungal diseases. When symptoms appear, promptly spray Bordeaux mixture or thiophanate-methyl solution; using the chemicals at home gives better results. Usually pay attention to enhancing the disease resistance of roses, and add phosphorus and potassium fertilizer when fertilizing.
Points to note when growing roses
Roses have strong sprouting ability and grow luxuriantly, so they must be pruned in time. After flowering, they must also be pruned in time to ensure light and ventilation for the branches.
