How to grow a Peace Lily tree? Cultivation methods and precautions explained in one go
1. Soil
The peace lily tree is suited to growing in slightly acidic, fertile soil with strong drainage and high organic matter content. When preparing the soil, you can mix in some fine sand particles to make it looser.
2. Water
The peace lily tree grows relatively fast in spring and autumn. During this period, keep the potting soil moist and spray water on the plant to increase humidity. After winter, it enters dormancy, and the amount of watering can be halved.
3. Light
Relatively speaking, the peace lily tree is a plant that quite likes sunlight. If the sunshine duration is insufficient, its leaves will become dull and lusterless. On the contrary, if it gets sufficient sunlight, its leaves will be very glossy. However, it should not be exposed to strong sun for long periods, otherwise its leaves will be sunburned.
4. Fertilizing
The peace lily tree also likes fertilizer. During the growing season, apply a compound fertilizer once a month. After the weather turns cool in autumn, apply more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer to help it improve its cold resistance. After winter begins, stop fertilizing.
5. Precautions
1. Rain. Compared with the water we prepare for it, it prefers rainwater. Letting it get a proper amount of rain can promote its growth. However, after the rain, promptly drain the accumulated water from the pot.
2. Repotting. After the peace lily tree has grown for 1-2 years, the nutrients in its pot are mostly used up. We need to replace it with new soil with high nutrient content so it can grow better.
