Once I visited a friend's home and saw that all her plants were growing very well. She had also bought a small fish tank to keep goldfish, with some small potted plants placed beside it, growing especially vibrantly.

So I asked her: do you have any tips for growing flowers?

She looked at me strangely and said: it's very simple, for fish keeping just replace the fish often, for flower growing just buy more flowers, it's just that there are too many empty pots and nowhere to put them.

Actually, if you understand the tips below, a single jasmine can bloom year after year, flowering in spring, summer and autumn!

People love jasmine not only for its fragrance, but also because it blooms for a long time, from spring to autumn. But if it is not cared for well, you won't see a single flower bud.

1. After-flowering care

Many flower lovers buy jasmine that already has flower buds, and it is covered in blooms as soon as they bring it home, with some inflorescences bearing 5 or 6 flowers. But if it is not handled properly after the flowers fade, it will be difficult for it to bloom again next time.

Flower lovers can pinch off the tips after flowering, removing the leaf bracts of the inflorescence along with them.

2. What should you pay attention to normally?

Jasmine likes plenty of light, but cannot be exposed to scorching sun. It likes a warm and moist environment, but the potting soil must not become waterlogged.

According to the requirements above, after the flowers fade, pinch off the tips, then resume watering and appropriately increase the application of liquid fertilizer.

New flower buds will appear very soon!

For fertilizer, decomposed organic fertilizer is naturally the best, and secondly you can add some bone meal or the like. Keep the potting soil slightly moist but not wet. Spray water appropriately to increase environmental humidity.

Why are your flowers listless?

Some flower lovers' jasmine was blooming just fine, then suddenly seemed about to fade. In many cases this is because water was sprayed on the buds during the flowering period, causing the flowers to deform, and in other cases it is due to scorching sun, with too much sunlight causing the buds to drop.

When it is blooming, be careful not to spray water onto the flowers, and do not expose it to scorching sun during the flowering period.

2. (Autumn) Care after September. The temperature is still quite high now, so you still need to pay attention to sufficient watering and keep the potting soil slightly moist. Once the temperature gradually drops, start reducing the frequency and amount of watering.

The same goes for fertilizing. After the jasmine flowers fade, you can give a little nitrogen-potassium fertilizer, which counts as the last fertilizing before overwintering.

3. Pruning before winter

Spring is actually not very suitable for pruning jasmine, because it is easy to mistakenly cut branches that would bear flower buds. Pruning after autumn is the most suitable. Cut off all diseased branches, weak branches and some old branches. This is the major pruning before winter. Don't be reluctant to prune. The more you know how to prune, the more new branches will grow next year and the more abundantly it will bloom.

4. The importance of moving it indoors early

Don't wait until the temperature drops to 10 degrees before moving it indoors. By then it will be a bit cold for jasmine. After all, it is a tropical flowering shrub, so it should be moved indoors for care at around 13 degrees!

It should be placed on a windowsill with scattered light for care, and the space must not be sealed off.
