Aloe soil chosen wrong, a 10-year-old plant was neglected to death, regretting it too late
Aloe is a very common potted flower, and aloe has a strong ability to adapt to the environment. It has vigorous vitality and grows quickly, but I never expected that such an easy-to-grow aloe would actually be neglected to death by me.
At home there was a potted aloe of 10 years, very large, and somewhat top-heavy. At the time I did not take it seriously, and sometimes I would forget to water it. Later it slowly died, and I felt it was a great pity. Only afterward did I learn the reason. There was nothing to be done, I learned it too late!
I think a large part of the reason this aloe died was the soil. Before, when I watered the aloe, the water would not seep into the soil for a long time. The soil was extremely hard. Only now do I know it may have been soil compaction, which caused the aloe's roots to rot, and later it died!
So soil is crucial to a plant's growth. Loose, breathable, well-draining soil lets a plant's roots breathe smoothly, and when watering it is not easy for water to accumulate, so not only do the roots grow strong, but root rot is also less likely.
I summed it up, why did the aloe I grew develop compaction?
Because I was busy with work, I often watered the aloe directly with tap water. Tap water contains a large amount of chlorine and bleaching powder, and pouring it into the soil over a long time easily causes soil compaction.
I did not loosen the soil for the aloe. Ever since I started growing this aloe, I had never loosened its soil, so this also indirectly worsened the soil compaction.
So when growing flowers in the future, you must pay great attention to the soil. Soil is the foundation of all growth, and only good soil can grow good potted plants.
