How to Grow a Jade Plant So Its Leaves Are Thick and Fleshy and It Blooms

If you want your jade plant to grow well, everyday care is very important: you need to control watering, fertilize sensibly, and prune it properly. Below are tips for jade plant care!
Jade plant care tips:
(1). The jade plant needs repotting every year, usually in spring. When repotting, add fertile soil, then place it in a spot with plenty of light for care.
(2). It needs pruning once a year for shaping, usually in spring when repotting or in late autumn when it is moved into the greenhouse.
(3). In summer it is in a semi-dormant state, so stop fertilizing, and also pay attention to ventilation to prevent the leaves from turning yellow and dropping.
(4). Apply a dilute liquid fertilizer once every 10 to 15 days, and water once every 2~3 days; watering should follow the principle of drying out between waterings.
In summer, when temperatures are high, the jade plant enters a semi-dormant state. At this time you need to provide shade to avoid strong light, which can easily scorch the leaves.
(5). From August to October, when it turns cooler, the jade plant enters its growing season and needs to receive plenty of light.
(6). In late autumn it needs to be moved indoors promptly, stop fertilizing, control watering to once a week, and reduce the amount of water; it should be kept in a sunny spot indoors.
(7). The jade plant is not cold-hardy, so in winter keep the temperature above 7°C.
