Every girl has a pastoral dream, but with industrialization having come this far, the space left for us is just too, too small. Sometimes it's not that we can't rent a place, it's just where do we put all the flowers and plants we're growing? The balcony becomes the place where we place our hopes! The balcony is like our little garden for leisure and rest. Placing plants on the balcony is not a simple matter either, and it's not as if you can just pick any plant at random and put it on the balcony and all is well. Balconies face east, south, west and north, and the flowers suited to each are different too~

1. East-facing balcony

Features: direct sunlight in the morning, only scattered light in the afternoon.

Plant types: suitable for growing short-day and slightly shade-tolerant plants, such as Christmas cactus, clivia, orchid, azalea, amaryllis, poinsettia, spiderwort, calla lily, camellia, etc.

2. South-facing balcony

Features: good ventilation, abundant light, long sunshine hours, large temperature difference between day and night, high daytime temperature, low nighttime temperature, high evaporation, relatively dry air.

Plant types: suitable to choose light-loving, heat-loving plants, such as geranium, dahlia, moss rose, Chinese rose, hibiscus, dwarf petunia, five-color pepper, impatiens, cockscomb, primrose, jasmine, milan, orange jasmine, scarlet sage, cacti, aloe, etc.

3. West-facing balcony

Features: no direct sunlight in the morning, but direct sunlight in the afternoon with high light intensity and for a fairly long time.

Plant types: mostly choose climbing plants, such as grape, morning glory, honeysuckle, Boston ivy, star jasmine, Chinese trumpet creeper, wisteria, etc.

4. North-facing balcony

Features: only scattered light for most of the day, insufficient light, relatively low temperature.

Plant types: should choose shade-tolerant flowers, such as spider plant, asparagus fern, banana shrub, fuchsia, wax begonia, lucky bamboo, monstera, nandina, pothos, gardenia, money tree, etc.
