Detailed explanation of the air layering method for roses, teaching you to easily propagate roses

There are many ways to propagate roses, and of course cuttings are the easiest. Today, Huahua wants to try something exciting - turning roses into "high-altitude flyers" by using the air layering propagation method. Did you know about this?
Air layering time:
Generally carried out from May to September, with July to August being the most suitable.
Branch selection
Generally choose healthy, plump-budded branches from the middle section of the current year's growth. Select the site for ring-barking 10-15 cm below the tip of the branch. The width of the peel should be about 0.5 cm, and the depth should not damage the xylem. Generally use the tip of a knife to peel the bark, then use the tube-sleeving method.
Some experienced flower enthusiasts split a bamboo tube and sleeve it on. Two holes need to be drilled at both ends of the bamboo for the branch to pass through. The holes can be filled with moist moss or leaf mold.
If there is no bamboo, you can use a disposable plastic cup for layering. Drill a hole in the bottom - you can burn a hole with a lighter - then fill the cup with leaf mold, or wood shavings, sand and gravel, etc. However, do not pack it too tightly.
Afterward, keep the culture soil inside the tube moist. After about 30 days when roots have grown out, you can untie the bamboo tube, cut off the bottom, and plant the new plant in a pot for care.
You can also use plastic film. After peeling the bark, lay a 6-7 cm long piece of plastic film with moss and leaf mold on it, wrap it around the peeled branch, then tie it tightly with string. Normally water and fertilize as usual, keeping the pot soil moist. After roots have formed, remove the plastic film and plant it with the soil into the ground.
The air layering propagation method is the most suitable rose propagation method for flower enthusiasts. Some roses that grow too tall, or whose branches are too... cannot bend down. This method is more suitable. Cut it off after it survives. At the same time, it reduces the plant's height.
