First, when it comes to size and specifications, you should choose a pot that best suits its body size - neither too big nor too small. As for color, you can match it to the color of its flowers. If you want to raise the temperature and speed up sprouting, you can choose black. The most important thing is that breathability should be fairly good. It's best to choose a pot with holes in the middle-lower part, or make the holes yourself.

I. Size and specifications

First, generally speaking, you shouldn't use a pot that's too big or too small to grow it. It should match the size of the plant.

Second, if you use a pot that's too big, the soil will be too heavy and hard to move, and it will also be difficult to control humidity. It won't be very breathable either, and poor growth will result.

Third, if it's a larger variety, you should use a large pot. For medium-sized types like Cymbidium ensifolium (Chinese orchid), you should use a medium-sized pot. For smaller types like Cymbidium goeringii (Spring orchid), you should use a small pot.

II. Color

First, to make it more beautiful, you should choose a color that suits it. You can use plastic pots directly, because they come in especially many colors - all kinds of colors are available - and they have fairly high ornamental value.

Second, if you want to promote the growth of its roots and buds, you can use a black pot, because it can absorb heat and raise the temperature, but it's best to place it in an area with diffused light.

III. Breathability

First, apart from ceramic pots, which generally don't have breathability holes specially made, other types of pots have breathability holes around them.

Second, if the holes are located at the bottom of the pot and there are no breathability holes in the middle part, then moisture retention and breathability for the soil below won't be good.

Third, when choosing a pot, you should choose one with holes on all sides, and ideally with holes in the middle-lower part too. If conditions allow, you can make a stand for it, which makes it easier for it to breathe. If a plastic pot has no holes, you can make them yourself - just use a relatively sharp tool to drill holes in the pot. Be careful not to make the openings too big, otherwise the pot will leak water severely, which is bad for its water retention.
