Guzmania not growing well? Repot it and its leaves will turn glossy green

Guzmania can be repotted at any time of the year. First, choose a larger new pot for it, add some rough stones at the bottom, dig it out while the soil is relatively dry, clean away the old roots and rotten roots, then move it into the new pot, firm the soil down around it, water it thoroughly, and place it in a shady area to recover.
1. When can it be repotted
This flower does not have a very obvious dormant period, so it can be repotted at any time of the year.
2. How to repot it
1. It mainly grows as an epiphyte, using mosses as the potting material, so add some coarse gravel at the bottom of its new pot to help it drain better.
2. Then take its roots out of the original pot. It is best to do this while the soil is relatively dry, so the soil on the roots comes away more easily and the roots are not damaged.
3. Clean the soil off the roots without damaging them, then rinse the roots and remove the damaged ones. Then plant it in the newest pot.
4. Finally, firm the soil down, water it thoroughly, and place it in a spot that is neither cold nor hot to recover. After seven days, you can care for it in the normal way.
5. After that, add liquid fertilizer once every half month, and sprinkle water on the leaves and in the leaf cups regularly. Light should be around 70%, so the flowers will be more vivid in color and the leaves even more emerald green.
3. Points to note
1. When repotting it into a new pot, be careful to clean away only half or one third of the soil around its roots, which is enough.
2. Properly prune its old roots, dead roots and roots with poor growth. The new pot should be somewhat larger than the original one.
3. Wipe its leaves regularly, so the dust on them is cleaned off and they look more glossy, and it can grow better and better.
4. The soil in the new pot must be loose and airy enough with good drainage, and you can add some rough stones at the bottom of the pot. You can use soil containing rotted leaves as its potting mix.
