Stop growing pothos and spider plants; these 5 flowers are easy to care for and beautiful, bursting into bloom all year round!

1. Lisianthus

Lisianthus has an elegant plant form and fresh, delicate colors. Grown in pots to accent a room, balcony or windowsill, it gives a fresh and refined feel.

Lisianthus has strict water requirements and likes moisture, but too much water is also bad for root growth. If water is insufficient, the stems and leaves grow thin and weak and the plant blooms early. It is quite sensitive to light, and long daylight helps stem and leaf growth and flower bud formation. It needs loose, fertile, well-drained soil. With proper care it can bloom year round.

2. Carnation

Carnation has a dainty form, variegated yet elegantly clean colors, a dignified and generous bearing, and a delicate fragrance. It is easy to care for and has a long flowering period.

In summer, water in the morning and evening; in winter, water at noon. Watering during high heat or freezing temperatures will damage the roots and reduce or suppress vitality. As long as transplanting succeeds, dry soil has little effect, and watering alone restores its growth and development. When the branches reach 10 cm, control water and let the soil dry to encourage roots to grow downward (3-4 weeks). In summer, water at night to encourage the stems to grow taller.

3. Four o'clock flower (Mirabilis jalapa)

Four o'clock flower can be grown in pots, and some people plant it in courtyards. Its flowers open from evening to early morning and close under strong light. In summer, it grows and blooms well if it has shade. It likes a well-ventilated environment and has a mosquito-repelling effect in summer.

Four o'clock flower is easy to grow and its care and management are fairly simple; just fertilize and water appropriately during the growing period. The soil should be loose, fertile, deep, and rich in humus; loam or sandy loam is better.

4. Banana shrub (Michelia figo)

The flowers of banana shrub are very beautiful, so many flower lovers grow it in their homes.

Usually keep the potting soil moist, but never too wet. Because its roots are mostly fleshy, too much watering or waterlogging after rain can cause root rot. It needs more water during the growing period and before flowering, so water once a day. In hot summer weather, water the leaves to maintain a certain air humidity. In autumn and winter, because sunshine is shorter, watering once or twice a week is enough.

5. Gladiolus

People appreciate gladiolus not only for its form and charm, but also for its inner qualities, and gladiolus has a very rich range of colors.

Gladiolus is a plant that likes warmth, but too high a temperature is bad for its growth. It is a typical long-day plant; long daylight favors flower bud differentiation, and insufficient light reduces the number of flowers, but after flower bud differentiation, short daylight favors bud formation and earlier flowering.
