Snake plant habits

Snake plant can reach a height of1m or so, with leaves growing in clusters and upright, thick and leathery, both sides bearing irregular dark green cloud-like horizontal stripes, hence the name "tiger tail." Leaves are basal, usually1～2leaves, and some3～6leaves in clusters, upright, hard and leathery, flat, but when grown at home it often does not bloom, and it is mainly appreciated for its leaves.

Snake plant has strong adaptability, prefers warm and humid conditions, tolerates drought, and likes light but also tolerates shade. It is not demanding about soil, and sandy loam with good drainage is better.

The suitable growth temperature for snake plant is20～30°C, and the overwintering temperature is10°C. Tiger tail sansevieria can be propagated by division and cuttings.
