Have you climbed out of the succulent pit yet?

I've heard of people quitting gambling, quitting drinking, and quitting smoking. They all say they'll quit starting tomorrow, but then tomorrow turns into today again. What a deep trick! I've also heard of succulent growers wanting to leave the pit, but I only see people constantly jumping into the pit, and rarely see anyone coming out of it...

You who fell into the pit, have you climbed out yet?

Anyway, I haven't climbed out. I feel the succulent pit is very deep, and I'll probably be stuck there for the rest of my life!

I fell into the pit in March 2016. The first succulent I raised back then was a Sedum rubrotinctum (jelly bean plant).

After that, I don't know how many more succulents I bought. During that time, I moved once, and I gave most of my succulents to friends. I thought I could leave the pit then!

But even if you leave the pit, you can fall back in. The new place had a rooftop, which made it very convenient to grow succulents there, and I fell into the pit again!

I started buying succulents constantly again: Sedum morganianum (burro's tail), Graptopetalum paraguayense (ghost plant), Echeveria 'Tippy' (first love), Crassula mesembryanthemoides (velvet needle), etc. Now I probably have about 100 pots of succulents again!

It's not that many succulents, and I restrain myself from buying more. Moving is really too tiring.

But occasionally I can't help it and have to buy, buy, buy. When will this ever end!
