Mr. Wu grew his Christmas cactus into layer upon layer with a single piece of wire, and the neighbors gathered around to marvel

A few days ago, fellow gardening enthusiast Mr. Wu sent Xiaohua a few pictures of the Christmas cactus she grows, and it really looks especially beautiful. He said that ever since he started growing his Christmas cactus this way, all the neighbors nearby have come to see it, praising Mr. Wu for doing such a great job, saying it is truly amazing. Now let's look at the pictures
Fellow gardeners, take a look, isn't it spectacular? Xiaohua thinks it is really quite good. Let's take a look at the making process together! Prepare two kinds of wire, one thick and one a bit thinner
Insert the thick wire into the potting soil at an outward slant
Wrap the thin wire around a bottle into a spring shape, so the ring can be made rounder
Pull the thin wire spring outward into a large circle, but do not make the radius too large. Slip it from top to bottom over the three thick wires that slant outward. Because of the outward tension, the thin wire ring will not fall off even without being tied.
When tying the lower wire ring, the outward tension may not be enough to hold the ring up. You can use clips to help.
See that? Christmas cacti grafted onto Pereskia and those grafted onto cactus are both quite suitable for making supports this way
Once it grows to fill the pot, it will become more and more beautiful. Fellow gardeners, do you like it? Let's take a look together at how to care for Christmas cactus, and grow yours until it fills the pot!
After grafting, the care of Christmas cactus needs attention to the following points (let's take cactus as the example):
1. Avoid unsuitable temperatures; generally, go for the higher side rather than the lower side.
When winter arrives, the Christmas cactus forms buds and blooms, and it needs the rootstock to provide enough nutrients. In terms of temperature, the priority should be meeting the needs of the cactus rootstock.
Because cactus is less cold-tolerant than Christmas cactus, only by raising the temperature of the surrounding microclimate and keeping the overwintering temperature above 10°C can the cactus be prevented from entering dormancy, laying a good foundation for the Christmas cactus to bloom on schedule.
2. As the rootstock, cactus is relatively drought-tolerant, which is determined by the climate and environment of its place of origin. Keep the potting soil dry to improve the plant's cold resistance. During overwintering, water less, just enough to keep it from becoming excessively dry. When the room temperature is 5-10°C, water once every half month, and the amount must not be large
3. When potting Christmas cactus, choose fertile, loose, well-drained and airy, slightly acidic soil. Normally the potting soil should be moist but airy, not too dry or too wet, and when watering, do not pour it over the top
4. Christmas cactus is a short-day plant, but during the growing period it needs enough sunlight. Under 8-10 h of light per day, flower buds are easily formed, and it can bloom in 2-3 months. If it cannot receive sunlight, the flower buds that have already grown will also fall off, resulting in very few flowers or no flowers at all.
5. From spring to summer, apply diluted liquid fertilizer once every 10-15 days. Stop applying during the high temperatures of summer. From the start of autumn to before flowering, apply liquid fertilizer or compound fertilizer once a week. Before flowering, apply 1-2 additional applications of quick-acting phosphorus fertilizer. After flowering and before new shoots grow, pause fertilizing.
