A peanut in a pot is even more beautiful than a pothos, 1 seed yields 50 nuts
Peanut potted plant, with glossy green leaves
The leaves of a potted peanut are emerald green and glossy, and they also have a particularly fresh scent, which Huahua really loves. Peanuts can be grown in soil or in water. First, let's take a look at how beautiful a potted peanut is!
Toss a peanut into the soil, and you can both enjoy the flowers and harvest nuts
Toss a peanut into the soil and it will vigorously grow dense, emerald green branches and leaves, and can even freshen the air. In the end, pull it out by the roots and you'll see the roots covered with nuts, which really lifts your spirits. Let's see how to grow a potted peanut!
1. Remove the peanut shells
Choose plump raw peanuts, remove the shells by hand, and keep the large, plump peanut kernels.
2. Soak the peanuts
Put the peanuts in clean water, let the water cover the peanuts, and soak overnight so the peanuts absorb enough moisture. If any peanuts float on the surface after soaking overnight, throw them away.
3. Plant them in soil
Try to find a large flower pot. First lay broken bricks and tiles at the bottom of the pot, then add a mixed soil of pine needle soil and decomposed chicken manure. Then dig small holes, put 1 peanut in each hole, plant 3-5 in one pot, cover them with soil, and water thoroughly. Place in a ventilated spot with plenty of light.
4. They sprout after 2-3 days and rapidly grow into a potted plant
Peanuts sprout quite quickly. In spring, they usually sprout in 2-3 days. Water when the soil is dry, make sure there is plenty of sunlight, and water in some fermented cake fertilizer or compound fertilizer water every month, so the seedlings grow vigorously and produce more flowers and more nuts.
5. They bloom after 1 month
From planting the peanuts to blooming takes only about 1 month. The golden yellow flowers are very pleasing to look at, the blooming period lasts up to 2 months, and each peanut plant can produce 200-1000 flowers. Amazing.
6. They bear nuts after 3 months
About 3 months after planting the peanuts, the flowers gradually fade and the peanuts in the pot soil are ripe. You can lift the peanuts out of the pot soil, and the roots will be covered with plump peanuts. It's just so exciting!
Toss a peanut into water, and it looks 10 times better than a pothos
Peanuts can also be grown hydroponically, and they can likewise become a beautiful potted plant. The process is very simple. Come take a look!
1. Choose healthy peanuts
Choose plump peanuts with no wormholes.
2. Soak to sprout
Put the peanuts in clean water to soak, and the water should cover the peanuts. Change the water once a day with fresh water. After soaking for 5 days, they will sprout. If the temperature is around 25 degrees, they will sprout even faster!
3. Drill holes in a foam board
Find a piece of foam board and poke some small holes in it, just big enough to hold the peanuts. Then put the peanuts into the small holes with the sprouts facing down.
4. Put the foam board in water
Put the foam board with the peanuts into water so the sprouts touch the water, and place it in a cool, well-ventilated spot. After about 1 week, green leaves will grow!
5. Move them into the sunlight
When the peanut leaves spread out, you can move them to a spot with plenty of sunlight. After another 1 month of growth, the leaves become even more emerald green and glossy, much prettier than a pothos.
That's all for the introduction to potted peanuts.
Hurry and grow 1 pot yourself to try it!
