Today Huahua recommends several kinds of homemade nutrient solutions for flower lovers. The materials are just leftover egg-boiling water, used tea leaves, milk, beer and so on from home. After using them on flowers, the leaves become greener, the roots stronger, and they grow so fast they burst out of the pot!

Water flowers with aquarium wastewater, and the blooms will dazzle your eyes

If you keep fish at home, flower lovers, never waste the water changed out of the fish tank! As the saying goes, fish water is fertilizer. The feces produced by the fish in the water and the uneaten fish food both make the aquarium water richer in nutrients!

The advantages of

watering flowers with aquarium water

:

①Saving water resources: Keeping fish requires a lot of water. If the water is not reused when changed, it is simply wasted.

②Rich in nutrients: Fish excrement is fertilizer for green plants.

③Compared with tap water, the chlorine has already evaporated, so it is harmless to green plants.

Note that the temperature of the aquarium water may differ somewhat from the temperature of the flower soil. It is recommended to let the aquarium water sit for one or two days before use; the effect will be better and it will promote the growth of the flowers.

Don't pour out the water after boiling eggs, it can extend the flowering period

When Mom boils eggs for Huahua, she ladles out the water to water the flowers.

Just as we like to put eggshells in the flower soil, during boiling some of the mineral elements in the eggshells break down into the water, so the egg-boiling water also contains these elements. After being heated, this water also becomes cleaner, making it perfect for watering flowers.

Note that you must wait until the water has cooled completely before watering!

Moldy soybeans not fit to eat? Soak them in water to water flowers and make roots stronger

G a r d e n i n g E n c y c l o p e d i a

If the soybeans at home are either bitten by bugs or moldy from moisture, what should you do? Process them a bit and use them to water the flowers!

Steps :

①Collect all the moldy beans, put them in a big pot and boil them in water until the soybeans are completely cooked.

②Find a clean plastic bottle or plastic bucket, put the cooked soybeans in, then add clean water. The amount of clean water should cover the soybeans. Then seal the plastic bucket for fermentation. About every 3-5 days, open the lid to let it breathe; if you find that troublesome, you can also just poke a few holes in the plastic bucket.

③After about 1 month, the soybean flower fertilizer will be ready. Take the soybean fertilizer water and mix it with clean water at a ratio of 1:50 to make a solution, then use it directly to water the flowers. Soybeans are very rich in nitrogen. Once the flowers at home absorb the nitrogen from the soybeans, the roots will grow stronger and stronger!

④If you think the fermented fertilizer smells too bad, you can also just dig a hole along the edge of the flower pot and bury the cooked soybeans directly. About 1-3 beans each time is enough.

⑤Cooked soybeans will slowly release their fertilizing effect in the soil, thereby supplying sufficient nitrogen. Spider plants, pothos, snake plants and so on at home, after absorbing the nitrogen from the soybeans, will grow more and more vigorously, with stronger and stronger roots, and the leaves will also become bigger and greener!

Special reminder: moldy mung beans, red beans and so on can also be used to grow flowers this way!

Expired milk shouldn't be thrown away; after flowers drink it, the leaves look as if they've been waxed

G a r d e n i n g E n c y c l o p e d i a

Whether it's yogurt or milk, the shelf life is super short. Sometimes when Huahua buys too much while shopping in the supermarket, it expires after just a few days. People can't drink expired milk or yogurt, but you can give some to the flowers.

①Whether you use expired yogurt or expired milk to water flowers, it must be fully fermented before use. If you pour it directly into the flower pot, it will easily attract small bugs.

②Prepare a clean plastic bottle or plastic bucket, pour the expired milk or yogurt in, then add a little water, shake it slightly, seal it and put it on the windowsill to let the sun bake it. If you're afraid of the smell, you can add some chopped orange peel.

③Every few days, unscrew the cap to release gas (so it won't be impossible to open later). It will be fermented in about 1 month. After the fertilizer is successfully fermented, mix it with clean water at a ratio of 1:100 to make a solution, and use it directly to water the roots or spray the leaves.

④Even if expired, these dairy products are still very rich in nitrogen. Once the flowers at home absorb the nitrogen in them, the leaves will look as if they've been waxed, plump and glossy!

Soak used tea leaves in water to water flowers and keep the flower soil moist

G a r d e n i n g E n c y c l o p e d i a

Such expensive tea leaves, what do you do with the used tea leaves left after brewing? It's too wasteful to throw them away; you might as well brew them again and use them to water the flowers!

Put the leftover tea leaves from drinking tea into a bottle, seal it and ferment, and it can be used in about one month.

Watering flowers with used tea leaf water can keep the flower soil moist and promote the growth of green plants. Note that you should not pour the tea leaves into the pot along with the water, because then the tea leaves will easily rot, stink and breed small bugs.

The flowers watered with used tea leaf water, aren't they even more beautiful!

Aspirin water promotes rooting

G a r d e n i n g E n c y c l o p e d i a

Dissolve expired pills from home in water and feed it to green plants, and it can speed up rooting!

In spring, when taking cuttings, green plants are reluctant to root. What should you do? Take 1 aspirin tablet and crush it with a tool, then mix it with warm water at a ratio of about 1:1000, then soak the cutting branches in the aspirin solution for half an hour. This not only promotes rooting, but also sterilizes and disinfects, preventing the cuttings from rotting.

Water flowers with air conditioner water, spider plants and gardenias grow quickly

G a r d e n i n g E n c y c l o p e d i a

The season for turning on the air conditioner is almost here. The water produced by the air conditioner's operation is very useful, did you know?

The air conditioner water produced by condensation is neutral, neither acidic nor alkaline, and very mild. Collect it to water the spider plants, Christmas cacti and gardenias at home, and their growth will get better and better!

All right, that's what Huahua is teaching everyone today
