Living in a concrete jungle, we all long for that patch of green! Keeping a secret little woodland at home makes us feel cheerful every time we see it! But in different spaces such as the living room, dining room, bedroom, bathroom and so on, the requirements for placing green plants are different! Now let me tell you about them.

First is the living room. As a public area for receiving guests, the living room is usually fairly spacious. Homeowners can choose one or two large plants to place in a corner or beside the sofa, such as money tree (Pachira aquatica), happiness tree (Radermachera sinica), money tree (Zamioculcas zamiifolia), Dieffenbachia picta, Swiss cheese plant (Monstera deliciosa), green emerald (Philodendron), and so on. It is worth noting that the placement should not affect indoor traffic flow and sightlines. If the living room is not very large, try to choose some small and medium-sized potted plants. Plants that are too large not only attract mosquitoes and insects, but also give people a sense of oppression. Have you placed the plants in your living room correctly? If not, quickly try the method I mentioned.

Then there is the study. The study is a place for reading and working, so the green plants placed in it are not suitable if they have a strong fragrance or overly showy flowers, otherwise they will make people feel sleepy. I believe many people mainly use computers in the study. Here I recommend baby rubber plant (Peperomia obtusifolia). Baby rubber plant has fleshy, emerald-green leaves and does not have many requirements for light. Although it is small, it is a great helper against radiation. So placing a pot of baby rubber plant in front of the computer in the study is a good choice!

Next is the harmful gases released by household appliances, plastic products and so on. Beside these items, it is suitable to place sago palm (Cycas revoluta), chrysanthemum, kumquat, pomegranate, four-o'clock flower (Mirabilis jalapa), purslane (Portulaca grandiflora), Chinese rose, camellia, Aglaia odorata, daisy, wintersweet, marigold, and so on. These plants show unique advantages in this respect. You might as well choose one of these plants and place it beside these items; it will definitely be very effective!

Now let us talk about the bedroom. The bedroom is where we rest, so the plants placed in the bedroom and their placement should be chosen carefully. Flowers with too strong a fragrance are not suitable for the bedroom, because too strong a scent stimulates people's nerves, and in serious cases can cause insomnia and physical discomfort, such as jasmine, night-blooming cereus (Telosma cordata), lily, and so on. Most people's bedrooms are not especially large, and placing too many or too large flowers makes people feel oppressed, so one or two pots are enough. Everyone knows the bed is very important in feng shui, but in real life, due to the layout, it is hard to avoid having a wall corner or the sharp corner of furniture pointing at the bed. You can place a pot of green plants in front of the corner to ease this. Scientifically speaking, snake plant (Sansevieria trifasciata) is relatively easy to care for, and its leaves are upright and straight, giving people a positive, upward feeling and making them full of vitality. It also symbolizes bringing good luck and driving away bad luck, making it more than suitable for the bedroom. If you want to put a plant in the bedroom, snake plant is the best choice!

Finally, let us talk about the kitchen. This is the place where food is prepared, and as the saying goes, "illness enters through the mouth." In fact, it is not only food hygiene; kitchen feng shui also affects the family and the dishes that are made. Placing green plants in the kitchen can reduce the smell of cooking fumes, so if you want to put plants in the kitchen, you can place: golden spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum 'Vittatum'), variegated Dracaena reflexa, Garcinia subelliptica, ponytail palm (Beaucarnea recurvata), and so on. These are all good choices. For plants kept at home, function determines their placement. Take a look and see if you have placed yours correctly! Welcome to leave comments, like, and follow.
