How to grow a clivia so it quickly sends up a flower spike
1. Light deprivation
First, place the plant in a very dark place, where the temperature must be kept between 18 and 20, then use a plastic bag or fairly soft string to separate the leaves, and after 3 to 5 days the flower spike will grow out. This is a relatively quick method. During the process, the leaves must be kept intact and must not be broken, otherwise their ornamental value will be greatly reduced.
2. Alcohol
If some beer or baijiu is left over, you can dilute it and then use it to water the plant. This can quickly replenish the plant's nutrients, and the plant will also grow especially well. When using baijiu, pay attention to the amount: pour 20 to 30 milliliters on it, then dilute it in a certain ratio; generally the alcohol makes up between 1/20 and 49/50. If it is beer, you can use less water, but there should still be much more water than alcohol. Watering them with alcohol can quickly draw out the plant's flower spike, in about a week.
3. Warm water
A relatively large temperature difference is good for the plant sending up a flower spike. Generally, when the weather is fairly warm, first prepare warm water at about 38 degrees, then place the plant in the warm water, and when its outer wall becomes hot, take it out. At night, place it on a balcony or windowsill, where the temperature will be relatively low, basically around 8 degrees. Soaking in warm water is a way to slow its growth rate, so nutrient consumption will also be relatively low, while the large temperature difference can prompt it to accumulate nutrients, so the plant will quickly send up a flower spike.
4. Hot water
In fact, watering with hot water is also a method; using 40-degree water from the shower to water it works quite well. Keep the frequency at once every two days, in the morning, and each watering should soak through. After about 10 days, it will send up a flower spike.
