The Cavaliers won Game 7, let us show you the story of LeBron James defying fate

Led by outstanding performances from LeBron James and Tristan Thompson

The Cavaliers beat the Pacers 105-101 at home

Won Game 7 to advance to the conference semifinals

Tyronn Lue adjusted the starting lineup today

Simply had James play point guard

And moved Tristan Thompson back into the starting lineup

Teaming with Love in the frontcourt

This lineup change worked wonders

Thompson was full of energy, grabbing 6 points and 7 rebounds in the first quarter

Finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the game

And LeBron was as steady as ever

Finishing with 45 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the game

Also becoming the first player in history to put up that stat line in a Game 7

James has scored 45 points in a Game 7 twice in his playoff career

After this game

James has averaged 34.9 points in 7 Game 7s, ranking first in history (photo taken before the game)

His team record is 5-2

Jordan averaged 33.7 points with a team record of 2-1

Kobe averaged 22.2 points with a team record of 5-1

In addition, James passed Pippen for first place in playoff steals in this game

He currently ranks first in total playoff points, total steals, minutes played and free throws made

Second in field goals and three-pointers, third in assists, fifth in wins

Sixth in games played, seventh in rebounds, 19th in blocks

James averaged in this series

34.4 points, 10.1 rebounds, 7.7 assists and 1.4 steals

Shooting 55.3%

He led the team in points, rebounds and assists

The Cavaliers defied fate almost entirely on the strength of his astonishing performances

In this series James played

44 minutes, 40 minutes, 42 minutes

46 minutes, 42 minutes, 31 minutes and 43 minutes

This also produced a record

James has advanced in all 13 of his first-round appearances

Only he and Bill Russell have remained unbeaten in the first round in history

James suffered leg cramps in the third quarter and returned to the locker room

One possession later

James walked out of the locker room

He drank several bottles of Gatorade on the sideline to replenish his energy, and also started eating oranges

After the game LeBron James gave an interview

Admitting he was completely exhausted

"My whole body aches right now

I do not want to think about the Raptors today

I am ready to go home, I am tired, I want to go home"

After the Cavaliers eliminated the Pacers in Game 7

Their second-round schedule against the Raptors was also released:

The data shows a sharp contrast between the two sides in roster depth:

So far in the playoffs the Cavaliers have only

Two players averaging double-digit points (James and Love)

The fewest among all playoff teams

While the Raptors have four players

(DeRozan, Lowry, Valanciunas and Wright)

Averaging double-digit points in the first round

In addition, Cavaliers bench players have been outscored by 13.4 points per 100 possessions this postseason

Also the worst mark in the league

While the Raptors had the league's best bench net rating in the regular season

In the playoffs, although they have been outscored by 2.6 points per 100 possessions

In Game 6, with Fred VanVleet playing

They outscored opponents by 35 points per 100 possessions

But data is ultimately just data

It is only a reference

Not necessarily the truth

After all, this Cavaliers team has LeBron James

LeBron James, who defies fate

The rest of the playoff journey is still full of thorns

But I believe that even barefoot

He will carry the entire team on his shoulders and keep moving forward
