What to do when azaleas have yellow leaves and bloom sparsely? An old flower farmer teaches you to grow lush green leaves and abundant flowers

Many flower lovers say that other people's azaleas are lush and full of blooms, so why do the azaleas they grow have yellowing leaves and sparse blooms? Today Huar will share with you the flower-growing tips learned from an old flower farmer.
1. Soil
Azaleas are acid-loving plants. Many times we see azalea leaves turning yellow, and no matter how we water or fertilize, it does not help. Why? The root cause is a soil problem: there is not enough acidity, or the soil has even become alkaline, so of course the leaves turn yellow.
When this happens, there are many things you can do. The simplest is to add a few drops of white vinegar to the water when watering the flowers to adjust the pH, or bury some sulfur powder in the soil, which can also make the soil acidic.
2. Fertilizing
If you want azaleas to grow well, fertilizing is essential, especially during the growing period and flowering period, when they need a large amount of fertilizer. Since azaleas like acidic soil, you can add some fermented orange peel fertilizer, which not only provides nutrients but also changes the pH of the soil. Besides applying fermented orange peel fertilizer, you can also use other organic fertilizers together to increase nutrients, such as eggshell powder, bone meal, and so on.
3. Watering
When watering azaleas, remember one saying: water when dry, do not water when not dry. Do not water too frequently, otherwise root rot easily occurs. Especially in the current high-temperature and high-humidity environment, it is even more likely to cause the plant to rot, so you can move it to a ventilated spot.
During the growing period, you can spray some water on the leaves, but during bud formation and flowering, try not to spray water, otherwise it is very easy to cause buds and flowers to drop, and so on.
4. Pruning
The flowering period of azaleas does not last very long. Once the flowers fade, cut them off promptly to avoid unnecessary loss of nutrients. You can cut off one third along with the flowering branch, which also leaves more space for the branches to grow fully.
You should also regularly prune away weak branches, old branches, diseased branches, and so on.
