Many people like to keep flowers and plants at home to bring vitality to their living spaces. But some plants are really hard to grow and never seem to do well. Below are 8 easy-to-keep-alive foliage plants that will happily fill out a pot!

1. Croton

Croton (Codiaeum variegatum) is the foliage species with the greatest variation in color and shape in nature, and it is extremely beautiful.

It likes a hot, humid environment with plenty of sunlight. The ideal growing temperature is around 20 to 30 degrees. The plant is not very cold-hardy, and the winter growing temperature must not go below 13 degrees. During the growing season it needs plenty of light to grow normally.

2. Peperomia

Peperomia (Peperomia obtusifolia) is evergreen all year round, and it also blocks radiation and is easy to propagate.

It prefers more water and cannot tolerate drought. Normally, water it so that the soil dries out between waterings. It likes loose, fertile, well-drained, moist soil.

3. Rubber plant

The rubber plant (Ficus elastica) has broad, very glossy leaves and is used for indoor decoration, evoking a tropical feel.

The rubber plant likes moisture but hates waterlogging, and it cannot tolerate drought. It needs plenty of light to grow, but it is also fairly shade-tolerant.

4. Coleus

Coleus (Coleus scutellarioides) has green leaves with bright markings in pale yellow, peach red, vermilion, purple and other colors.

The soil should be well-drained, airy, loose and fertile, and rich in humus.

5. Green giant

The green giant (Spathiphyllum) is generally placed in a shaded area. Do not keep it under strong light all the time, and do not leave it in a place with no sunlight at all for too long.

6. Ornamental kale

Ornamental kale's changeable leaf shapes are like a beauty's gorgeous outer garment, so its flower meaning is gorgeousness.

It is not demanding about soil either; it is suited to growing in loose, fertile, well-drained soil.

7. Maidenhair fern

Place the maidenhair fern (Adiantum) in the living room or bedroom; it can grow very well even without sunlight. It likes fertile, fairly permeable calcareous sandy loam.

8. Variegated arrowroot

Its leaf colors are rich and varied, its ornamental value is extremely high, and it has fairly strong shade tolerance and fairly strong adaptability.

It likes a warm, humid and fairly dark environment. During the growing period it needs more water; keeping the potting soil moist is best.
