The mushroom houses of the Hani people in Yuanyang are built according to the mountain terrain, naturally formed, and are a major local feature. Many villages in Yuanyang have the custom of market fairs. You might as well buy a local calendar, pay attention to the market days, and stroll around the market, which lets you better experience the local customs and ways of life.

Beijing ▎Shidu

Shidu is located in the southwest of Beijing, belongs to Fangshan District of Beijing, is adjacent to Yesanpo in Laishui County, Hebei Province, and is about 90 km from Beijing urban area (Liuliqiao). Shidu is a natural scenic area with mountains and water. Its unique karst landform is rare in the north, and because of this it was rated a World Geopark and a National AAAA Scenic Area. Shidu has 18 ferry crossings in total, and each crossing has different scenery. Of course, the 10th crossing is not the most beautiful either. Sightseeing at Shidu is mainly concentrated at the 6th crossing (Gushan Fortress), the 9th crossing (Juma Park), the 15th crossing (Donghu Port), the 17th crossing (Youshan Homeland, Wild Battle Dadonggou. Live-action CS), and the 18th crossing (Juma River First Rafting). Comparatively speaking, the 17th crossing is more convenient, very close to Donghu Port and rafting.

Beijing ▎Shuiquangou

Originally a small canyon at the junction of Huairou District, Changping District and Yanqing County, with high steep cliffs, dense wild trees, and a stream winding and curving for three to five km. Because of ancient geological movement, huge rocks rolled to the bottom of the ravine and were scoured by flowing water into round and strangely shaped forms. Later, outdoor travelers in the capital discovered such a primitive, hidden place with good scenery and designed a low-difficulty beginner cross-country route. Precisely because this route has little difficulty, still has mountains and water, and has not been developed into a scenic area, it quickly became an alternative weekend resort for city dwellers.

Beijing ▎Houhe

Houhe, also called Gucheng River, is located more than 10 km north of Yanqing County. It originates from Haituo Mountain 30 km to the northwest and branches at the Yudu Mountains. Its water winds along the mountain terrain and is known as the "Nine Bends of Gucheng". The two sides of the Houhe canyon form cliffs like those cut by a knife or axe. On the canyon walls there are many stone pillars, stone pestles, stone swords and karst caves. In the caves there are stalagmites, stalactites, stone curtains, and others, quite similar to Zhangjiajie in Hunan. It is said to be "surrounded by steep cliffs, layered peaks and ridges, sweet clear springs, murmuring streams, scattered river stones, a hundred birds contending in song, wildflowers dazzling the eyes, schools of fish darting about, stars twinkling, the Li River at the reservoir's end, green water like Jiangnan". Inside the canyon the lake water is blue-green, and the mountains are reflected in it. It has both the grandeur of mountains and no lack of the liveliness of water. This time we will both climb mountains and play in the water. The theme is also to experience the wonder of nature and feel its beauty; to appreciate this stretch of clarity, quietness, stillness and wildness far from the noisy city, and to feel Houhe's mountains, stones, forests, waterfalls, flowers, grass and streams.

Beijing ▎Jiuduhe

Jiuduhe, an ancient town in the suburbs of Beijing, is a shallow mountainous town in Huairou District. The whole town has 18 administrative villages, 5800 households, and 18000 people, with a jurisdiction area of 180 sq km. Huanghua Town Village in Jiuduhe Town was already called Huangban Valley as early as 525 AD in the Northern Wei Dynasty. In the Jin Dynasty a fixed village settlement formed, and in the Yuan Dynasty the Huanghua Town Thousand Household Office was established. It has a history of nearly 1500 years and is an ancient town in the Beijing suburbs with many cultural relics and historic sites and rich, concentrated tourism resources. The biggest feature of the Jiuduhe river beach is that the beach is open and not in a deep canyon. Therefore the river water nourishes the hundred mu of fertile farmland beside it. Large numbers of fruit trees and vegetable gardens form a very good match with the river. If you get tired of playing in the water, you can go to the bank to pick some melons and fruit and bring them back. After chilling them in the river water, they taste especially good!
