Kalanchoe (Kalanchoe blossfeldiana) never thrives? Seeing these will show you how to extend its flowering period

Gardeners certainly all hope their plants and flowers can last a long time and that the flowering period can be longer. Today let's talk about how to make the kalanchoe's flowering period longer. If you want a long flowering period, you can't just simply put a few things in, because that will very likely harm the flowers.
1. Potting soil
First, the pot it is planted in must not be too large. If the space is too big, the roots will spread everywhere, and a great many roots will consume a large amount of nutrients, so its flowers will become fewer and smaller, and the flowering days will be shortened. It is best that its plant shape is not too tall either. Summer is its dormant period, and winter is the best time for it to grow, so before autumn arrives you should prune it heavily to make it shorter, which allows its branches to develop. Then, with added fertiliser, its growth will improve, and the more branches there are, the more flowers there will be.
2. Do not fertilise too heavily
Fertiliser and water are the way to promote denser branches and leaves, but you must not overdo it. Everything is spoiled by excess. If you fertilise heavily, it will become weak and unable to absorb nutrients, and then many yellow leaves will appear, with no vitality at all, which affects its ornamental effect. As long as you add some fertiliser when it is flowering and when it is forming buds, you can make it grow more flowers and bloom longer.
3. Water appropriately
You should control its water moderately. It is a succulent flower with a lot of moisture in its body, so it can tolerate drought relatively well, but it is afraid of waterlogging. If the floor is relatively high and the air is relatively dry, it will grow better. In spring and autumn, water it once every three days, and water it thoroughly. In summer, water it a little less, once every five to seven days is fine. If you put it outdoors, be careful to shelter it from rain, because if there is too much water it easily drops leaves. Only with moderate water control is it possible to extend the flowering period.
4. Give it appropriate light
It likes sunlight and can tolerate partial shade; in summer it fears extreme heat, and in winter it fears severe cold. Apart from the midday of the dog days, when it needs shading, at other times it should be given light. If it receives more than eight hours of light, its leaves and branches will grow very compactly, can store more energy, and prolong the flowering time.
Growing plants must be done step by step, not all at once, otherwise the plants you grow will not be healthy either. Growing plants is a long-term matter, and gardening friends certainly want their flowers to last a long time, so they must go through conditioning and care.
