Reasons Why Freesia Does Not Bloom and How to Fix It
1. Planting time
For this plant, it does not bloom in the first year after planting. Some people think that as long as it is cared for well, it can bloom in one or two years. In fact, this is unlikely to happen. Generally speaking, from seedling emergence to flowering, it takes three to four years. If the time has not come yet, then it is normal that it cannot bloom. Continue to care for it carefully, and it will bloom eventually; just wait patiently.
2. Temperature
This is from the perspective of care. This plant itself is a warmth-loving species, especially when it is flowering. Therefore, a suitable temperature is indispensable. Specifically, the most suitable temperature range for it is 15 to 25 degrees. So, if it does not bloom, we can consider whether temperature is the reason. If so, then just adjust the temperature.
3. Light
This aspect is also from the perspective of its care. We all know that for a plant to bloom, suitable light naturally needs to be ensured. Moreover, this plant itself also very much likes warm sunlight. So, if it has not bloomed for a long time, then you can observe its growth state to see whether it is lacking light. If this is the reason, then move it to a place with sufficient light and let it bathe in the warm sun.
4. Nutrients
The nutrients consumed during flowering will inevitably be somewhat more than at other times. So, check whether the plant has an insufficient nutrient supply. If it is insufficient, you can apply some fertilizer to it. For example, you can use nutrients such as potassium dihydrogen phosphate to help it bloom.
