Succulents grow beautiful in the warm sun, but only repotting with fresh soil lets them grow new fleshy growth
As temperatures rise, spring has quietly arrived around us. Spring is undoubtedly the season when succulents grow fastest. With the spring breeze blowing, what can we do to help our lovely succulents? If you don't have any ideas yet, just follow my steps and let's take a look at how to use spring to cultivate succulents!
In particular, soil mix media that have been used for a period of time (one year to a year and a half) are very easily affected by uncertain factors such as soil compaction, pathogens and pests, and it is precisely the influence of these various factors that causes the air permeability and water permeability of the potting soil to gradually deteriorate, until finally the nutrients and fertility inside it are completely used up.
So regularly replacing the soil mix media can ensure that succulents get new nutrients, and of course it can also improve the living environment of the plants. Therefore, in order for succulents to have a better growing environment, succulent fans can replace the soil with a mix richer in nutrients, so as to meet the needs of the new succulents. The most common media (volcanic rock, peat soil, vermiculite, coconut coir).
Finally, we need to know that succulents are plants with fairly low fertilizer requirements, but when spring comes, the growing season for succulents, it is still necessary to appropriately supplement some compound nitrogen fertilizer to promote the healthy growth of their new fleshy growth (mature succulents do not need added fertilizer), and it is recommended not to add fertilizer at other times.
Besides anchoring the plant, soil mix media can also provide nutrients, so only good soil mix media can grow more beautiful succulents!
