I started growing succulents in the spring of 2015, always on two small bay windows. Since last year, I had been planning to make good use of the large balcony of my new home, using it entirely for growing succulents. After more than half a year of effort, the balcony is already filled with lovely succulents!

Starting this year, the cabinets on the balcony had been built according to the earlier design. After that, every day on my way to work, I moved the succulents bit by bit from home into the new house. It was still the tail end of winter, and I never dared open the windows. I added a radiator to the balcony, simply because I was afraid the winter temperature would be too low and freeze the succulents to death.

The process of moving the succulents every day was happy and satisfying. Even though I had to get up very early and it was a bit troublesome, whenever I thought that my beloved succulents would start a new life with me in a beautiful new environment, I was full of fighting spirit!

Slowly moving and moving, at first I worried there wouldn't be enough space. Later I found that not only could all my succulents fit, but there was also room to add several hundred more pots. Of course, they were all fist-sized small pots!

With so much space, of course it was time to add fresh blood! I had said before that I wanted a forest of peaches stretching ten li, so let's start by adding more Peach Eggs (Graptopetalum amethystinum)!

These were several rounds of additions before spring arrived. Among them were some varieties I really like, such as Luoqi and Peach Egg, and then I found there was still a lot of space, so I kept adding more Peach Eggs!

My dream of a forest of peaches stretching ten li is gradually taking shape. For the pots, I chose Hualui and Provence, relatively cute small pots. The Peach Eggs still need time to be shaped and controlled. I hope by next autumn I can have a truly plump peach forest.

This year I bought two large closed-cultivation boxes for my Haworthia cooperi. I had wanted to buy them before but had nowhere to put them. Now that I saw the space was bigger, I quickly bought them and set them up. Within a few days the effect showed, sparkling and crystal clear, refreshing to the heart!

Every morning I get up to mist them before the sun comes out, then use a fan for half an hour to blow away the stale air of the night, starting a fresh and comfortable new day!

Occasionally at night I humidify the succulents a little, just like a woman doing a face mask at night, giving them some moisture!

I really love thumb pots. They're cute, help control the shape, and don't take up space!

These are all little elves that have stood the test of time!

This is what Sasa Queen looked like at the beginning! It looked like this in the winter of the year before last! Here I want to thank my succulent mentor, Miss Ren Mengjing! This is a little flower she gave me.

This is her beauty now! Sasa Queen really counts as one of the succulents that has given me the most surprises. She also gave me great confidence: as long as the environment is good and the care is in place, succulents will definitely be beautiful!

This time I bought another pile of Sasa Queen, and I'll keep working hard!

This is the small bay window from before I moved last year. I hope this autumn my balcony will bloom with even more beautiful colors!

Every succulent here is planted for you.

I just bought four grow lights. Buying things in Xinjiang is really difficult. There are especially many cases where couriers won't ship, and the shipping fees are frighteningly expensive! But to keep my beautiful succulents from stretching in summer, I'm willing to give it a try! All the photos above were taken normally under natural light; only this last picture is of succulents under the light, hehe.

I'll end this article with my family's big baby Jiami! I hope this summer I'll gain some care techniques for the new balcony, and in the coming years these succulents will become more and more beautiful!
