Why is cherry blossom regarded as a symbol of love and hope

Cherry blossom: it is a general term for several plants of the genus Cerasus in the rose family (Rosaceae); in the newly revised nomenclature of Flora Reipublicae Popularis Sinicae, it refers specifically to "Tokyo cherry blossom", also known as "Japanese cherry blossom". There are quite a lot of cherry blossom varieties, numbering more than three hundred, and worldwide there are about 150 species of wild cherry blossom, with more than 50 species in China. Of the ancestors of the roughly 40 species of wild cherry blossom plants worldwide, 33 species are native to China. The others are varieties derived through horticultural hybridization.
Cherry blossom is native to the temperate zone around the Himalayas in the Northern Hemisphere, and grows in all parts of the world, mainly in Japan. Each branch bears 3 to 5 flowers, forming an umbel-like inflorescence; the petal tips are notched, and the flower colors are mostly white and pink. The flowers often open together with the leaves in March or after the leaves, and with the change of seasons the cherry blossoms are quietly fragrant and gorgeous, and are often used for garden viewing. Cherry blossoms can be divided into two types, single-petaled and double-petaled; the single-petaled type can bloom and bear fruit, while the double-petaled type mostly does not bear fruit. According to documentary evidence, more than two thousand years ago during the Qin and Han dynasties, cherry blossoms were already cultivated in Chinese palace gardens. By the Tang dynasty, cherry blossoms had already commonly appeared in private courtyards. At that time, when all nations came to pay tribute, Japanese envoys brought the cherry blossom back to Japan, where it has a history of more than 1000 years. Cherry blossom symbolizes ardor, purity and nobility. It is revered as the national flower of Japan.

It can be planted in groups, and can also be planted on hillsides, in courtyards, along roadsides and in front of buildings. At the peak of blooming, the flowers are abundant and gorgeous, the whole tree is lush and romantic, like clouds and rosy clouds, extremely spectacular. It can be planted in large patches to create a "sea of flowers" landscape, can be dotted in the green space in clusters of three or five to form brocade-like masses, and can also be planted singly, forming the pictorial charm of "a spot of red among ten thousand acres of green". Cherry blossom can also be used as a street tree along paths, as a hedge, or made into bonsai.

Cherry blossom
National flower:
Cherry blossom is a symbol of love and hope, and one of the representative symbols of Japan. In Japan, legend has it that long ago there was a fairy named "Konohanasakuya-hime" (meaning cherry blossom). In November of one year, the fairy set out from Okinawa, passed through Kyushu, Kansai, Kanto and other places, and reached Hokkaido in May of the following year. Along the way, she scattered a flower symbolizing love and hope in every corner. To commemorate this fairy, the local people named this flower "cherry blossom", and Japan thus became the "land of cherry blossoms".
Flower language:
Cherry blossom is a symbol of love and hope, representing elegant, simple and pure love. Cherry blossom is like a naive young girl, quietly blooming in spring; the white and pink cherry blossoms all over the tree are the most beautiful words to tell a lover of love. A certain person in your heart is just like that lonely rain of cherry blossoms, slowly fading away into the depths of time, leaving an eternal memory.
