Which plants are suitable for spring sowing around the Spring Equinox? Plant them now and they will bloom next month
The 24 solar terms are meant to remind us not to miss the farming season. It is now around the Spring Equinox, and the Spring Equinox is exactly the time for spring sowing. Potted Plant Uncle Beidao has summarized for everyone the plants suitable for planting around the Spring Equinox, as well as the plants that will bloom next month!
The Spring Equinox falls at the end of March and close to early April, a time when cold and warmth alternate. The plum blossoms we all know, various flowers of the Malaceae family, and various flowers of the Magnoliaceae family are all suitable for planting now. In addition, peonies, camellias, Aglaia odorata, Sarcandra glabra, jasmine, hyacinths and others are also very suitable choices for this time.
However, note that because the temperature difference between north and south is obvious at this time of year, you need to know the lowest temperature your chosen flowers and trees can tolerate. If your local temperature at night will drop below the temperature at which the plant would suffer cold damage, you need to wait a few more days and plant after the weather warms up.
At this time of year, besides the elegant and refined, do not forget the plain and ordinary. This is also a "busy farming" season for balcony vegetable growers:
In northern regions, crops such as Chinese cabbage, radishes, potatoes, broccoli, chives, celery and cabbage are all at their best sowing time now.
In southern regions, you can first plant cold-tolerant vegetables now, such as rapeseed, lettuce, garland chrysanthemum, spinach, radishes and so on.
As for flowers such as winter jasmine, peach blossoms, cherry blossoms, plum blossoms and azaleas, in northern regions most of them will bloom next month. Flower lovers who enjoy viewing flowers can hurry and place a pot at home now. In southern regions, these flowers may already be blooming now.
