The number of exhibitors at this year's AWE2018 reached a new high, and according to official data it reached 462.

Through data analysis, we look at two questions: Which city in China is truly the strongest in home appliances and consumer electronics? Between the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta, which is truly stronger?

From the regional distribution of the 462 exhibitors, we can see some clues.

Looking at provinces, Guangdong is dominant on its own, with 156 exhibitors, of which Shenzhen alone accounted for as many as 51.

It can be said that Shenzhen is now unquestionably the strongest city in China's home appliance and consumer electronics industry. And Guangdong is the strongest province in the industry.

Zhejiang Province, in second place, had 98 exhibitors, one third fewer than Guangdong Province. Does this suggest that the Yangtze River Delta's previous leading position in home appliance manufacturing is no longer secure? Let us take a look:

Shanghai, as the host city, had 50 exhibitors, and adding Jiangsu Province's 39 exhibitors, the total for the entire Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai Yangtze River Delta reached 187.

Adding Guangdong plus Fujian's 11 exhibitors, the total for the Pearl River Delta region is 167.

In terms of total volume, we can see that the Yangtze River Delta region still leads by a slight margin, but looking at future development trends, the Pearl River Delta will quickly overtake the Yangtze River Delta.
