How to grow Anthurium fast? A detailed guide to care methods

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
If you want it to grow fast, you can approach it from five aspects. The first is temperature. The suitable range for it is 14 to 35°C, and the day-night temperature difference should be 3 to 6°C. The second is water and fertilizer: water when the soil is dry and let it dry out between waterings, and during the growing season apply nutrient solution or fertilizer water once every half month. The third is pruning: suitable pruning helps it grow fast. The fourth is humidity: keep it at around 70 percent. The last aspect is light: sufficient scattered light is best.

1. Temperature

This flower is very sensitive to temperature, so this is the first aspect to pay attention to. Overall, it is 14 to 35°C. Specifically, during the day it is 21 to 25°C. At night, it is 19°C. The day-night temperature difference should also be noted, kept at 3 to 6°C.

2. Water and fertilizer

For water, under normal growing conditions, meeting the requirement of watering when dry and letting it dry out between waterings is enough. If you are unsure when to water, you can observe the soil surface. If it has become dry, water some and water thoroughly. As for fertilizer, during the vigorous growing season, use nutrient solution or diluted flower fertilizer once every half month.

3. Pruning

If you want it to grow fast, proper pruning is essential. This is especially true when the leaf stalks at the base degenerate. You need to cut off those diseased and weak, aging branches. In this way, those newly grown, sturdy branches can grow fast.

4. Humidity

Specifically, the humidity requirement is around 70 percent. However, in ordinary home cultivation it is not easy to reach this requirement. So, you can use a clean dry cloth dipped in water to gently wipe its leaf surface. Or, regularly spraying some water around it also works. However, if it is in the flowering period, be careful not to sprinkle water on the flowers.

5. Light

Too strong or too weak is both bad. Sufficient scattered light is best. For home cultivation, you can place it on a balcony. In summer, when there is too strong light, be careful to shade it. Also, evenness of light is very important. You can rotate its position, which not only lets it grow fast but also lets it grow very symmetrical.
