Anthurium Fertilizing Guide: What Fertilizer Is Best
1. Commonly used fertilizer types
Actually, as long as it is a suitable fertilizer, it is good. There is no fixed standard of good or bad, and there is no rule that a certain fertilizer must be applied. There are a great many fertilizer types suitable for this plant. For example, liquid fertilizers and slow-release fertilizers on the market. Of course, there are also special fertilizers designed specifically for the characteristics of this plant. So, how do you judge whether it is suitable for it? There are mainly two points. First, in terms of nutrients, those with relatively balanced various elements are best. Second, fertilizers applied from the roots produce good results. This is because its leaf surface has a layer of film, and if applied only from the leaf surface, the effect is very limited.
2. Frequency of use
(1) Spring and autumn are about the same, with a fertilizing cycle of four or five days. In other words, about once every four or five days.
(2) Summer is in high-temperature weather, so once every three or four days is needed. Liquid fertilizer can be used, and it can be done together with watering.
(3) In winter, the demand is not high, and the interval is also longer. So, generally once every six to eight days. At this time, liquid fertilizer can also be used.
3. Other precautions
(1) The timing of fertilizing also matters. Generally, the period from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. is most suitable. However, if it is winter, or early spring, it can be adjusted to from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
(2) Needless to say, the concentration must also be noted, and it must not be too high.
(3) Two hours after the fertilizer is applied, spray a little water to rinse off the fertilizer water remaining on the leaves.
