How to keep forget-me-not cut flowers in a vase
1. Trimming the roots and inserting at an angle
Before inserting into the vase, the roots need to be trimmed first. This is done to prevent some bacteria from hindering the roots' absorption of water. It is best to cut at an angle, which can increase the area for absorbing water. After that, excess branches can also be trimmed off. Then, they can be inserted into the vase; note that they need to be inserted at an angle.
2. Amount of water
Too much water cannot be added, otherwise its roots are very likely to turn black and, in severe cases, even rot. Generally, just enough to cover the bottom of the stems is fine.
3. Changing the water
Generally, changing it once every one or two days is fine. Of course, it can also be adjusted according to the specific indoor temperature. However, if a preservative has been added to the water, then it can be changed once every three days. When changing the water, the vase can be cleaned at the same time. And the roots can be trimmed again at the same time, and you can also check whether there are any problems with the roots.
4. Temperature
Warmth is best. Around 22 to 28°C. Too high is also not good; it is best not to exceed 30°C.
5. Light
Keeping them in a vase has something in common with growing them in soil, which is that a certain amount of light is needed. Being dark all the time is certainly not acceptable; an appropriate amount of light is needed.
