Flower growers all run into this situation: they often need to fertilize their plants. For flowers to grow well during their growth process, they need nutrients supplied through fertilization. Nowadays many people use household waste to make their own flower fertilizer, which both reuses waste and provides nutrients to the plants, killing two birds with one stone. With summer here, watermelon has become something very common in our lives. Below is an introduction to a method of making your own fertilizer, a method of making flower fertilizer from watermelon rind.

Method 1 for growing flowers with watermelon rind:

Cut the watermelon rind left after eating into long strips with a knife, not too long, about 5 cm or so is fine. Put them in a container and let them ferment in the sun. To avoid unpleasant odors produced during fermentation, you can add a little orange peel. After about a week, the watermelon rind will rot into mush. Add clean water to dilute it, and it can be used as flower fertilizer to grow flowers.

Method 2 for growing flowers with watermelon rind:

Cut the leftover watermelon rind into small pieces, then put the watermelon rind into a container, add clean water, and place it in the sun to ferment. But do not put in too much watermelon rind and water; leave some space. Do not screw the bottle cap on too tightly, to prevent the gas produced during fermentation from causing the lid to burst. Once the watermelon rind has fully decomposed, it can be used as flower fertilizer to water the flowers.

Summer is the peak growing season for many flowers, and during growth they need nutrients. When fertilizing, the concentration should not be too low, so using fermented homemade flower fertilizer to grow flowers is more suitable than anything. However, when fertilizing, do not get too close to the flower's roots; apply it a little farther away from the plant. This way you can supply plenty of nutrients to the flowers without harming their roots.
