This season can be said to be the most beautiful time for rose blooms. Whether climbing or shrub types, they all compete to show their beauty. But what should you do after the roses fade? How do you care for them so they quickly bloom again?

After the roses fade, you must do these few things immediately to get the roses to rebloom quickly and bloom more and more!

1. Prune spent flowers after blooming

When spent flowers appear on the rose, we need to pick up the scissors and start pruning the spent flowers. The pruning height is determined by the overall shape of the plant. Generally, cut starting from the 3rd-4th leaf below the spent flower, and choose a position where the bud eye faces outward.

2. Cut off diseased and weak branches

To ensure a large number of flowers and large blooms on the rose, some thin and weak branches should also be cut off to avoid unnecessary nutrient loss. In addition, some leaves showing disease should also be cut off.

3. Cut off blind branches

Blind branches refer to branches that only grow leaves and do not bloom; leaving them on the plant consumes the most nutrients.

4. Apply fertilizer promptly

The rose is a flowering plant that greatly loves fertilizer. After pruning is completed, supplement once with phosphorus and potassium fertilizer to promote blooming. You can buy some special flower-promoting fertilizer, or you can use some organic fertilizer you have fermented yourself, such as fish emulsion water, which is quite good.

After these 4 things are done, you will find that new bud eyes on the rose keep emerging, and in about half a month new flower buds will begin to bloom one after another.
