When does the tree peony bloom? Which months are its flowering period generally in?

Its appearance is loved by everyone. Generally speaking, it blooms only once a year, but different varieties bloom at different times. Some, such as the cold-resistant tree peony, can even bloom twice. And besides the normal situation, we can also adopt certain methods to delay it.

I. Time

1. Under relatively normal conditions, it blooms only once a year, and the time is in April. The blooming period is generally rather short, about ten days or so, from the 10th to the 20th. Of course, we can also adopt certain methods to delay it and make it bloom in winter.

2. In fact, under relatively normal conditions, the tree peony sheds its leaves in winter, and only in spring does it bloom again. But this is not the case for all of them. Some varieties, because they differentiate very early and the dormancy of their buds is relatively shallow, will unfold their leaves under very natural conditions, so a second blooming comes naturally.

3. Some rather unique varieties do not bloom at the same time. The cold-resistant tree peony can bloom twice a year, and in spring it opens a dozen or so flowers early, while in winter the number of blooms is not as many as in spring. As for 'Cold Cherry Lion', it blooms around late October, 'Huchuan Cold' blooms in early November, and 'Shiyu Cloud' blooms in mid-to-late November.

II. Adjusting the flowering period

1. Although the flowering period of the tree peony is fixed, with the progress of technology the flowering period can now be controlled artificially. Generally, it can be controlled by certain methods to fall on National Day, Spring Festival, etc. So if someone wants to display it as a potted plant on a certain holiday, they can prepare in advance and control its flowering period well.

2. Generally, to control it for National Day, the temperature needs to be controlled to around zero degrees before July 15, then after half a month let it grow normally, and it will be able to bloom normally around the end of September.

3. If you want to choose the Spring Festival, then you should select tree peonies that are several years old, pot them two months in advance, then place them in a room to raise the temperature. During the day, control the temperature at around 15 to 20, and at night at around 10 to 15, and make sure light and water are well guaranteed.

4. For blooming on May Day, you need to move the already cold-stored ones into a room at the end of March, then raise the temperature and water them, etc. After a month, the flowers will bloom.
