How to grow a gardenia so it thrives? A detailed guide to care methods
1. Humidity
First is watering. Proper moisture is fairly hard to control: it should be neither insufficient nor waterlogged. Generally, you can observe the state of the soil; when you see the soil is dry and somewhat whitish, you can water it. Then there is the humidity in the environment: do not place it in a particularly dry place. If it is really very dry, you can spray some water into the air, or spray some on its surface, to increase humidity.
2. Light
If you want it to grow lushly, light is indispensable, because it helps the flowers accumulate enough nutrients. Except in summer, or when the light at noon is very strong, it is best to give it plenty of light at other times.
3. Temperature
Needless to say, to achieve the goal of making it lush, the temperature must be adjusted to a suitable range. Overall, this plant likes warmth. Specifically, keeping it at around 15 degrees is more suitable.
4. Fertilizer
Especially in spring, it grows very fast, and nutrients may not keep up. So, to make it grow lushly, some fertilizer must be used during this period. Apply some decomposed fertilizer each time; do not use things like milk. Note that the frequency can be appropriately higher, but the amount needs to be smaller, and the concentration must not be too high.
5. Pruning
Proper pruning helps it grow more vigorously. The most necessary time is after it has finished blooming. This can effectively prevent the tips from taking up too many nutrients and promote even growth.
6. Repotting
This also has a big impact on its growth condition. Especially when the soil has become somewhat compacted, repotting helps adjust the unfavorable state and helps it grow better.
