How to care for a gardenia after repotting? Master these care methods
1. Environmental humidity
This plant likes a humid environment. After repotting, this is still the case, so the surrounding humidity needs to be a bit higher. If it happens to be during hot weather, evaporation is fast, so you have to increase it manually. For example, use a humidifier, a spray bottle, and so on.
2. Light
Right after repotting, the plant is generally relatively weak. So you cannot place it in direct sunlight, otherwise the leaves may curl from being scorched. It needs appropriate shading; a semi-shaded spot is best. If it has already grown new leaves, that means it can already adapt to the surrounding environment fairly well. At this point, you can pick a time when the light is not especially strong and take it outside to get some sun.
3. Ventilation
This is very important, especially for plants kept indoors. Frequently open the doors and windows; it is best to have natural wind blowing in. However, sometimes it is very stuffy and hot with no wind, so you can use items such as a fan to get the air circulating.
4. Water
After repotting, watering cannot be too frequent. Normally, you only need to water once every two or three days, when you see the soil turn white and dry out. Also, you need to water until the water flows out from the hole in the bottom of the pot.
5. Mix special substances into the water
Because this plant likes acidic soil, after repotting it is best to add some (FeSO4) solution, or a few drops of vinegar, lemon juice, etc., to the water you use. This helps the plant adapt faster.
