What to Do When Lucky Bamboo Leaves Dry Out? Causes and Solutions
1. Overwatering
1. Symptoms: If you often give it too much water, its leaves will lose their luster and dry out, the old leaves will not show obvious changes, the roots will be very thin, and the new shoots will not grow well.
2. Solution: Reduce the amount of watering normally. If the situation is very serious, you need to repot it in a new pot, then place it in a shady area to air dry for a while, and once the soil is dry, transplant it into the new pot. Normally, if it is grown in water, do not change the water too often; changing it once every three to five days is enough. If the water evaporates, just add more water. Changing the water too frequently will cause the leaves to dry out. Wipe its leaves often to keep them cleaner.
2. Too Little Watering
1. Symptoms: If it is grown in soil and you often do not water it, or the amount of water is too little, the leaves will also dry out. The old leaves will gradually fall off from the base upward, while the newly grown leaves are generally more normal.
2. Solution: Water it immediately, but do not suddenly give too much. First water a little, and after two hours, once it has adapted, water it thoroughly. Pay attention to watering it during regular care; do not just leave it unattended. It really loves water.
3. Too Much Fertilizer
1. Symptoms: If you add fertilizer in too large a dose or too often, the tips of its new leaves will wither, and the old leaves will turn yellow, wither, and fall off entirely. Even if the leaves are thick and look glossy, they will not be very smooth.
2. Solution: First, immediately stop fertilizing it, then water it with clean water to help flush out the excess fertilizer. If it really cannot be flushed out, repot it in a new pot.
4. Too Little Fertilizer
1. Symptoms: If you often only water it but do not fertilize it, or if you do not repot it in a new pot for many years, its roots will ball up and its leaves will dry out.
2. Solution: Repot it in a new pot in time, and apply fertilizer several more times, but in small amounts. Normally, do not let direct sunlight hit it, otherwise the leaf tips will also dry out. Place it in a shady area.
